Great little bakery! They have all the baked goods you would expect at a panadería. The staff was very helpful picking out things and is bilingual. There is a counter that has some local cheese and cake. They had horchata and chicken tamales for lunch special. I had two tamales and they were delicious. The masa was cooked right, the chicken was good and they had some other surprises with it. This place is located in the Weis shopping center. They have some seating outside but none inside.

Sonia’s Bakery in Culpeper is a true local treasure! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly smiles and the irresistible aroma of freshly baked pastries. Their piña pastries are perfectly sweet and flaky, and the cuernitos de crema melt in your mouth. The conchas are consistently fresh and full of authentic flavor.
What sets Sonia’s apart is the personal touch — the owner and staff remember regular customers, take the time to recommend new treats, and clearly care about every pastry that leaves the counter. The bakery itself is cozy, spotless, and full of charm, making it a perfect spot to grab a morning treat or afternoon pick-me-up. If you’re in Culpeper, Sonia’s Bakery is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving real, homemade Latin pastries!

This is a bakery not a restaurant for dining. The baked goods are way overpriced. Ordered a birthday cake, beautifully decorated, but the taste of the cake wasn’t right. When I took the cake out of the box, the inside of the box was wet like something (oil?) out of the cake. The outside of the box was dry. I kept the cake refrigerated. The other desserts were great! The lady behind the counter was pleasant & very helpful.

The staff at this bakery is so friendly and helpful. Ready to tell you what is in the items on display. Everything was well made. Different taste levels from more basic to more of a punch of flavor. Cinnamon and raisins, pineapple and strawberry all different flavor combinations. Did not try the cookies but they looked big and yummy! We took home quite a variety for a very affordable price!

This place was a dream. Walked in, Had no idea what I wanted. I asked one of the customers and the guy working. Got their favorites. And oh my God. Absolutely amazing!. I only spent $5 and I left with three items. And they were huge! Definitely hit the spot. They need a tip jar though!

Delicious interesting assortment of baked goods. Very helpful woman explained all our options. We tried 5 different pastries and enjoyed every one. And it was very inexpensive!! Wish we lived closer- it would be a daily habit.

The baker that was in the bakery was very helpful. The bakers are from Guatemala. There are a variety of breads that are typical of their country. They have breads, croissants filled with various sweet fillings, and cookies. I love going in and talking with them. You can also sit inside or outside of the bakery and have your bakery items.

I got two papusas and they were very tasty…and piping hot, which was great on a December evening! I thought the amount of food was a touch light, but I can understand that. Overall, very good. And the baked good looked excellent!
