I’m not sure how I missed this absolute gem of an experience until this week, but when I mention how great the food I just had at Conchman Conway’s is, everyone looks at me like I’m slow or something. Well, I’m glad I’ve caught up with what apparently everyone already knew about.
For the few of us that were uninformed until now, let me tell you… don’t think about it, just go get a plate. When I saw the photos online of what the plates looked like, I thought, “those are staged.” I swear to you, they’re not. They legit look like that and my photos were taken two minutes after picking up my plate from the owner Roy that came with a warm smile and a handshake.
I tried the Sampler Plate which had fried conch, conch fritters, and fried shrimp with a side of Fries. Roy asked me if I wanted to add a lobster, he had some big ones today, and since it was my first time, I figured why not… you only live once. The last time I had conch that was this well done was when I was at the world famous Goldie’s in Nassau. Goldie’s is the kind of place where they shell and clean the conch right in front of you. That was the best Conch I’ve ever had. If you want to skip the plane ride or cruise boat for a trip to the Bahamas, this is the best Conch you’ll find stateside.
Everything was cooked to perfection. The coating is light and crispy and well seasoned. The conch and cocktail sauce are both house made and are just packed with flavor. I can honestly say this is the best fried seafood in Tallahassee. Thanks Roy for the warm welcome. I look forward to having another plate soon.

Want to support but I can’t support receiving fries from $1 tree. He stated he didn’t have any fries, literally walk over to the $1 tree across the street and came back with a bag of fries lol. I was the only customer there at that time. Didn’t want to make a fuss (my fault for not speaking up) and STILL charged me the same price for $1 tree fries. Lesson learned! And yes, the reviews are true, he’s very weird & loony. I thought at first he was just being performative but unfortunately he’s just off the rails naturally lol. His wife is a very sweet woman. A pleasure to interact with. Good luck to her!

For my first time experience, the food was delicious. I enjoyed the conch fritters and cracked conch with French fries. It was still hot when we arrived home. The owner and his wife were so friendly and conversational. Overall, the flavor of the food was there, and it was worth the price. I will be back soon.

Amazing food for an amazing price! Everything was incredibly well-seasoned, fresh, and juicy. I got the cracked conch, conch fritters, and dressed conch (which was super sour but I loved it so much) and all of it was delicious. The location is interesting and I would love to see this establishment have their own special place. 10/10 would recommend to everyone in the Tallahassee/Leon county looking for fried seafood.

Man let me tell you, my family traveled all the way from GA to find conch salad… we came across this business and we were not disappointed never had dressed conch before but the dressed conch is the best I’ve ever tasted. The secret these two are serving is better than love in a dish. Other places I’ve visited have lost my business definitely will visit every time I come to Tallahassee… Thank you guys for amazing service and food.

Tried the Conchman for the first time and I wanted fish and shrimp but unfortunately the fish was already sold out but the owner suggested the shrimp and wings and let me tell you I was not disappointed!! Some of the best fried wings/shrimp I’ve ever had…I can only imagine what the fish tastes like! This is now my GEM of seafood in Tally❤️
