I’ve been a fan of Sarku Japanese Food for years, but unfortunately the quality has fallen off. Yesterday we ordered two chicken teriyaki entrees with white rice and vegetables through DoorDash! We paid more for the extra portion of meat. They used to double the amount when you ordered extra meat. The portions were disappointing—very little meat and a lot more rice than expected. This is not the first time the double meat amount seemed off. It’s like because it’s coming to you through DoorDash, they don’t give you the right amount of meat. On top of that, the flavor just isn’t what it used to be. I used to try to replicate the flavor at home. Their food was so good but not anymore. It taste like the sauce recipe is different. The food lacked the richness and freshness that once made this place enjoyable. I truly hope this is just a temporary dip, because Sarku used to be a spot I would recommend, but this experience missed the mark. Either way, with increased expenses, I will think twice before I go back!

We got two beef teriyaki bowls with extra beef white rice and vegetables. They barely gave us any meat, rice or vegetables. When I saw the portion of the beef they put on it wasn’t even a scoop and I asked him what was that and that it wasn’t even a portion he reply that’s how they are and to move along because there was a line. The lady behind me however was packed and she didn’t even pay for extra protein. I don’t ever like to complain about food prices but when you pay for something extra you expect to get what you paid for and in this case was extra protein. Don’t waste your money at this place you can get fuller portions for the same or less at other fast food restaurant.

I went here to get a quick bite, and i got the chicken bento box. It was very delicious, and the person who took my order was VERY KIND. They gave a large portion for an affordable price, and it tasted great. If youre at the mall, you can’t go wrong with Sarku Japan.

Came in to pick up a mobile order and was told by one of the employees that I don’t order at the pickup area and to go over to the cashier even though I let her know I had a mobile order. When I get to the cashier, she repeats what the last person said so I let her know I had a mobile order. She kept talking over me when I was trying to explain I had already ordered and it wasn’t until that I raised my voice that another employee understood that I had ordered already.
I give that employee kudos but the other two associates are unprofessional. I understand it was late in the day and malls can be high velocity, but take a second to understand the situation before assuming what the customer is going to say.

Ordered beef n shrimp. Paid for extra shrimp. Did not receive extra shrimp. Lady that ordered after me ordered same thing without extra protein, her order damn near would not close cause the box was so full. So why did she get hers first even though ordered almost 5 minutes before her and why was it so much more for less money? Do better.

We ordered a chicken bento box. My son doesn’t like rice. I told the gentleman at the counter no rice, please. He rudely snapped back at me so you just want chicken plain? No vegetables or sushi or dumplings? I politely replied he wanted the full bento box but just no rice. His rude response was so what do you want?!? I patiently repeated everything the bento box comes with except rice. His response was again “so just chicken”. Finally got that cleared. Then I ordered a California roll. His response was “there is already California roll in the bento box”. Yes- I know that. I patiently tell him the bento box is for my son and the California roll is for me. Meanwhile the line to order behind me is growing. In the end, the food was just meh. I guess they don’t have to try since they are in a busy mall food court, but still!

Food was bland and dry. I asked before leaving counter for sauce poured over it 2x an I had to still get soy sauce packs because they were stingy with the sauce. What’s the point of offering sauce if you gonna be pety. What are you making the sauce for if you not gonna use it or give half a teaspoon to customers??? The grill needed cleaning it was too much char mixed in the food. Paid almost 10.00 for everything an was not satisfied an will not return.

I was very disappointed and hungry. The grab meat was bad. It’s tastes and smells really bad. In addition, the cashier is very pushing. I would not recommend this place.
