The service is attentive and friendly, making every visit feel special. With its warm ambiance and consistently high-quality food, Tavolo is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable meal.
The hostess (I’m so sorry I forgot her name) was very sweet, welcoming, and attentive.
I was seated with Stephanie, who stayed on top of everything for me in such a nice and timely manner. Every time the hostess or Stephanie made eye contact with me, it was with a warm smile, and I really appreciate that.
The 3 course menue they have on Sunday and Mondays is WELL WORTH IT.
Stephanie brought out water and nice fluffy bread right away, and my wine followed shortly behind.
I ordered the Castellani Chianti since I knew I was going to order the braised pulled beef shank. The wine paired splendidly with my main course.
I started with the soft bread and house infused oil they had prepped on the table. It was a well flavored oil, garlic, and afternotes of chili pepper. It had just enough heat to enjoy without burning your mouth and gut.
Next was my beet salad, which was refreshing and balanced.
My main course, as stated above, was the braised pulled beef shank. They paired the beef with pillowy gnocchi, asparagus, mushroom, and cipollini onions. What a delicious combination With the wine, it was beautifully done.
I could not even finish my main course because their portion size was more than fair. I ended up getting my tirimisu to go and forgot to take a picture before devouring it later at my hotel.
Overall, they were lovely from the service to the atmosphere to the food.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the lovely hostess, Stephanie my server, and the chefs who absolutely know their flavor profiles well.
I will absolutely come back when I’m in town and will recommend you to anyone looking for a lovely restaurant to patron.
There was a networking meeting going on that evening and I was concerned that is would impact service or lengthen time for food ro arrive but it did not. Food was great. Loved that they use privacy screens and move them around the restaurant as needed. Great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. Will definitely be back!
My apologies in taking so long to write this email but better late than never.
On January 7, we had my father’s funeral luncheon. There was a group of 24 of us. We were seated in the back area. We were greeted kindly and given condolences by our waiter, Chris.
My father loved Southern Comfort so my friend and I made up a drink with Southern Comfort, Amaretto, and cranberry juice. We named it a SoCo Pop in honor of my father. We asked Chris if it would be possible to have one made for everyone and he kindly obliged. The bartender was a young girl but I can’t remember her name but she made 24 of those drinks in no time and they were fantastic. Everyone loved them and some ordered a second one.
The three course luncheon was offered and most everyone ordered off of that menu but there were a few that ordered off the regular menu which was also offered. There were a few that needed special attention with dietary needs and they were accommodated. The food was delivered promptly and without a hitch and everyone was impressed with the service and food. Literally, everything was perfect and spot on.
We live in Smithfield so we frequent Tavolo often. We had gone to the Trap after the wake the night before and everything was horrible so I was praying for a better experience for our guests. Chris was absolutely incredible. It was a large party with special drinks and he handled everything professionally and flawlessly. He was friendly and kind.
When we visited a few weeks later for dinner, he welcomed us back and I told him how incredibly impressed we all were with him and the bartender and it was then that he told us that they actually had to run over to the liquor store to buy more alcohol for us. I was shocked that they did that. I mean, we certainly would have understood if they told us they ran out of something. I mean, we did order 24 of them to begin with.
I know I’m carrying on but I just can’t say enough about how wonderful he and everything was. He just handled everything so beautifully and it did not go unnoticed.
Thank you for listening and providing such a wonderful experience in light of the situation.

p.s. On another note, often when I visited with my dad for lunch when he was able to get out, we had the waitress with the short spikey hair. My father was in a walker and suffered with dementia and she was always so kind and patient and took such good care of him. We’ve had her as a waitress a lot too and she is very efficient and professional. Now, I’m done. lol
