First off, the atmosphere is the strongest variable here. It’s more of a shared common space, think food hall but only with one restaurant. They share the dining area and patio with 4 Hands Brewing, a locally owned bar with upscale drink choices.
The service was when things started to go downhill. This place is pretty much team-based service, meaning you don’t have a specific server. You order at the window, and then a random person checks on you if you’re lucky.
The food was not great. We started with the Hush Puppies, which were pretty hard. They were overly fried and lacked flavor, but the aioli on the side helped lighten them up a bit. I got a Smoked Brisket Po’Boy, and it was not a good cut of meat. Fatty brisket, but decent toppings and sauce.
My Mom, however, got a Burger. You wouldn’t think a burger would be so difficult, but apparently it is. When it arrived, she enjoyed her first bite of cooked meat. However, when she bit further into it, the burger was almost fully raw inside. It was red/bloody and tasted like raw meat.
I went to bring her burger over to the counter, and the woman told me there wasn’t much that could be done. She told me “that’s as cooked as it gets, sorry, but I don’t know what to tell you”. We were pretty shocked at the lack of help or care in their response.
I’m giving 2 stars because the manager, Jordan, called us and took the burger off of our bill. However, we won’t be back. The atmosphere is this place’s only strong suit, the service is confusing and the food is mediocre at best.
My husband got the Connecticut lobster roll since he doesn’t like mayo and I got the shrimp po boy. Both apparently came with homemade chips, but we didn’t know that so we paid extra for fries. We also got hush puppies, because why not?!
I topped the night off with the specialty drink, The King Cake Espresso Martini. It seemed really sweet so the bartender suggested how to make it less sweet and she killed it. It was so good! This is not the first time we’ve been here and it definitely won’t be the last!
I thought the toastmaster ordering was kinda cool. The food came out fast.
Took a little bit of time to get sat but it was Saturday and it seems to be a popular spot. Anyway, glad we went. Delicious for the most part!
The patio? Absolute bee’s knees. If you’re into seafood and outdoor dining that makes you feel like a soft jazz track should be following you around, this is your spot. Order the bucket. Wear the bib. Become the clam.
I visited your Peacemaker restaurant on December 21, 2025, after driving from Washington, Missouri. I specifically chose your establishment because of the online advertising for “Holiday Cocktails and Claws,” as I was looking forward to enjoying some holiday cheer in celebration of my birthday.
We arrived with a small dog that was fully contained. Because of this, we were not able to sit on the decorated side of the restaurant. However, more than one staff member informed us that we could still enjoy the holiday cocktails and claws in the room with live music, provided that we ordered them at the bar on the other side.
When I went to the bar to place the order, I was told—quite abruptly—that we could not order those cocktails or claws to be consumed in the room with the music. The bartender was rude, and when she turned away, it was obvious she was speaking about me to someone else at the bar, likely a friend or coworker. I was then told that we could order the claws “to go,” but when I attempted to do so, I was again told that this was not allowed.
Throughout the evening, we were given conflicting information by multiple employees. While some staff members were friendly, they were clearly misinformed. Unfortunately, the blonde woman who appeared to be part of management was neither friendly nor apologetic and made no effort to address the confusion or the discourteous behavior we experienced.
I have worked in the hospitality industry myself for many years, and I understand that misunderstandings can happen. However, the lack of consistency, professionalism, and basic courtesy was extremely disappointing. What should have been a festive birthday outing turned into a frustrating experience.
Because of this visit, I will not be returning. I wanted to share this feedback so you are aware of how this situation was handled and how it reflects on your business.
The Bad: First, I made a reservation through the website (on Google) When we arrived, the host told us that they don’t take reservations on Google, it was a glitch that allowed me to, but they would honor our reservation. All good.
We sat down and started looking at the drinks menu, wondering where the menu was. Then noticed the QR codes (one for drinks, one for food). Realized that we needed to order online. Ok, not great, would have been nice if the host had pointed that out, but whatever. Ordered drinks and they came out very quickly. Wanted to order an appetizer but not dinner yet and the Food QR code wouldn’t let us keep the tab open.
Hush Puppies came out quickly, but were luke warm. Then ordered dinner. Three Lobster Rolls and a smashburger. The ordering was not quite user friendly and we crossed our fingers that it would come correctly. We also had to order WATER online.
Food came out correct, and although it was tasty, it was a very tiny lobster roll for $37!!!
Altogether, for four people with two drinks each, it cost almost $300. For that kind of money, I would appreciate a human being taking our order and answering our questions.
Might go back for drinks, but will pass on the food.
