I really want this place to make it, but I don’t think it will unfortunately, as my wife and I were the only table there on a Friday night at 7pm. I don’t hold this against the restaurant in my review.
My beer was cold, her cocktail was good and the waitress was very nice. But the food was absolutely terrible, especially when compared to the very high level competition in town. The smash burger had zero flavor, the stag burger just tasted like maple syrup and the fries were very dry, like freezer burn straight into the deep fryer dry. The buns were even a little stale and flavorless.
This place could be good if they can manage to get their food in line with the quality elsewhere in town. Also from the outside, if you didn’t know this place was there, you would probably just think it’s a house. The small signs in the windows are nearly invisible because the only real lighting is behind them. The vinyl siding just makes it more house like too. Nothing attracts your eye here.
I truly hope the food changes and I can revise this review.
I’m also suspicious of all the 5 star reviews. But that’s just me.

Fabulous dinner! Hands down the BEST fish and chips I’ve ever had, so fresh with the lightest, crispiest batter! My husband had the butternut squash appetizer which was AMAZING and the leg of lamb cooked to perfection. The whole family had a great meal. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere had such a lovely, welcoming vibe. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit!

We had the most amazing meal at The Stag’s Leap. As a group we had the Asian short rib which was superb; full of flavour and very tender. The sea scallops were fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. We found the savoury Goat’s Cheese flan very satisfying. The Risotto, Caesar Salad and Duck Confit were all exceptional and of high quality. The staff were very attentive. The restaurant/bar has a separate area which would be perfect for a private party. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

I was there with my family for dinner and I don’t usually do reviews but I felt this was well worth the time. We ordered appetizers which were muscles that were absolutely delicious so we had a side of fries that were thin cut that im not usually a fan of but if all thin cut fries tasted like these id have a totally different opinion but my favorite of the appetizers was the butternut squash dish and for my main meal I had the duck it was the best I’ve had that I can remember my wife had the Cod that she loved and my mother in law had the lamb shank that she was going on about how tender it was so she shared some with us and I already know what I’m ordering next time I go. Lastly the drinks we had from bar were spot on.. Also one of the most important things is service, which was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. We are definitely going back and if you are thinking about going I definitely recommend..

I have been here three times and each time I have been impressed by the food and the service. The first time I went with a friend and we sat at the bar I had a burger and he had the baked cod. Bother were excellent. The second time I had the butternut squash appetizer and the fish and chips. these were probably the best fish and chips I’ve eaten in the area.

Had a great experience here! The menu has a lot of great options, and the cod was cooked perfectly—absolutely delicious. The service was excellent throughout, and Rob makes an amazing espresso martini. Highly recommend!

My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the bar. We shared four dishes: brie bites, goat cheese tarte tatin, mushroom quesadilla and a poached pears dessert, and all were delicious. The bartender, Rob, was extremely attentive and was instrumental in helping us choose our food. Stag’s Leap is definitely a place to try … It’s warm and inviting.

This restaurant was a disappointment. We visited on a Saturday night, and it was surprisingly empty – only one table was seated, while other restaurants in the area were full. The smell was putrid, like a barn. The drinks were terrible, and the staff didn’t look neat. The tiramisu tasted like margarine. The silverware was in horrible condition – it was foggy and looked 100 years old. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

This restaurant has promise. This scallop appetizer was good, kids mac and cheese was good, but both the ribeye steak and short-ribs in their pasta were tough and low quality. They need to improve before returning.

Walked in and it smells so bad like a barn! Like is that part of the ambiance?! Gross! Just got a drink at the bar but had to leave because it smelled so bad. And the cocktail was gross. Very unimpressed
Just got drinks there so I have no clue if the food is goods but at 8pm there was only 1 table and 2 other people at the bar. And lights on. Awkward. How is this place going to survive??
