I’ve heard really great things about this place, so we decided to come here for dinner. I got a chicken gyro without tomatoes and onions, and a side of french fries. I got the combo so it came with a side and a drink. The gyro was huge and a very generous portion. The fries were delicious. We waited a good bit since they had a lot of online orders to prep as well, but they apologized for the wait. The food was delicious! I really enjoyed it, and the price was reasonable for the amount of food you get.

Hands down, one of my favorite places for lunch in Greenville. Their chicken shawarma bowl is THE BEST in town and their mint lemonade hits every time. The staff are also all super friendly!

Happened upon this restaurant in route to another restaurant and decide to try it. Staff are very nice and the food was absolutely delicious. I love the spices they use. I had the mixed kabobs and they were grilled to perfection.

I have been a longtime customer of Habibi and have always appreciated the excellent food, fast service, and positive atmosphere. Unfortunately, the recent changes in operations and staffing have resulted in a noticeable decline in both service quality and food consistency.

Since the remodel, the service has slowed significantly, and the food no longer tastes the same. While the updates to the dining area look nice, it appears that less attention has been given to staff training and operational efficiency. I also noticed that much of the original, highly competent staff is no longer present.

There are several issues at the front counter that need attention. The female employee I always end up with is polite but consistently struggles to follow basic instructions and our orders are always messed up. Additionally, items at the front counter frequently run out, and customers must wait while staff go to the kitchen to prepare or retrieve them. This suggests that restocking procedures are not being followed.

The quality and preparation of the gyro meat have also declined. Portions are inconsistent, with pieces sometimes cut too large to eat comfortably or reduced to a pile of small scraps. Toward the end of the day, staff often run short because they have not prepped enough in advance, resulting in smaller portions or unavailable menu items.

Operational efficiency overall seems to be a challenge. When multiple staff members are working, there appears to be confusion about roles and responsibilities. Employees often duplicate tasks or get in one another’s way, causing delays for customers waiting to order or pay.

During peak hours, a clearer structure would significantly improve service. A suggested model might include:

* One person on register and fries
* Two people on the front counter (one dedicated to restocking as needed)
* One person on the grill and phone orders, properly trained to cook items consistently

A separate prep station for phone orders would also reduce disruptions and prevent in‑house customers from waiting while call‑in orders are assembled. It is especially frustrating for customers when priority seems to be given to phone orders while those waiting in the restaurant experience delays, particularly when phone orders receive the last of the gyro meat, while in-house clients are turned away.

TV is loud and makes it hard to order. It would be more appropriate to move it to the dining area. If you want music in the front you could have purchased an streaming device for a fraction of the price. But these items do not belong in the ordering area where it makes it difficult to order and hear.

While the remodel improved the appearance of the dining area, it did not address the operational challenges that most affect customer experience. A large TV, a second dessert display, and additional counter space are less important than efficient processes, well‑trained staff, and consistent food quality.

From a customer perspective, the top priorities are:

1. Reliable, friendly service
2. Consistent and flavorful food
3. Accurate orders
4. Adequate stock of menu items
5. Prompt service

Unfortunately, these expectations are not currently being met. As a result, we have gone from visiting twice a week to once a month, and it is noticeable that the restaurant is not nearly as busy as it once was.

The atmosphere, which used to feel warm and energetic, now feels stressed and disorganized. Staff members often appear frustrated, and that energy carries into the customer experience.

I am sharing this feedback out of genuine concern. Habibi has long been one of my favorite restaurants, and I would hate to see it continue in this direction. With some focused attention on training, organization, and workflow, I believe the restaurant can return to the high standards it once maintained.

I hope this review is received in the constructive spirit in which it is intended, and that meaningful improvements can be made before it is too late.

Bought 4 Sharma and Gyros. The meat was cut off of the black and must have been sitting in a tray for a long time. The chicken and lamb tasted like Jerry. All the pita for the hummus was cold too

This place is amazing. First the people are all family and they are great. They treat you with respect and have no problem telling you everything about all the items. They will let you taste the salads and the humus before choosing. The dining area was super clean, and they offer about 10-15 tables. The drink selection is large with a self service fountain system and bottled drinks. The food…. Ooo the food. It is great. I have been there two times now and it is next level mediterranean food. The beef is tender and super flavorful, the chicken tastes authentic and it’s moist. The lamb just melts in your mouth l, it’s unreal how good it is. The rice is soft and tastes very good. Not plain or hard or mushy. Spoke to the owner and he invited me behind the counter to see the process of cooking the food and it makes Spence. They care so much about the food as they cook it. Check out the photos, see the goodness. Btw the humus is better than I have ever tasted. The dessert is in the photos, I’m not sure what it’s called but it is great! Portions are massive too so that’s a plus especially for the price!

Update: We drove all the way to Greenville just to visit this amazing restaurant. The owner wasn’t there but his son was very welcoming as well as the staff with him! We ate there and we also ordered take out so that we can eat this delicious food at home. Even if it was reheated, it’s still so delicious!

Overall, I highly recommend visiting this Mediterranean cuisine restaurant for a delicious meal and friendly service. We will definitely be returning in the future.

BEST MEDITERRANEAN restaurant of Greenville! This is a must go to if you ever plan on visiting Greenville. Owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming! We are an hour away from home and we decided to try Habibi Mediterranean Grill. The restaurant is so clean and the owner really knows his customers so well. The owners and staff really accommodated us throughout the entire dining to make sure we have a good first time experience. The food is so generous and is very reasonably priced. My husband got the lamb gyro and he highly recommends it. I got the Habibi Mixed Platter with chicken and lamb, it is sooooo delicious. I normally don’t order lamb but this restaurant got me to it. Everything is so well seasoned since I know some Mediterranean restaurants really season everything but in this restaurant everything is so well balanced! The spices complimented the food. I’d say we are definitely coming back here even if it’s an hour away! If you haven’t tried Mediterranean cuisine, I highly recommend coming here to it and especially if you LOVE Mediterranean food like us!

I was in Greenville for business for 3 days and ate here all 3 days! Great FRESH Mediterranean food. Had the Beef Shawarma wrap first day, Lamb Gyro Second day, and the Chicken Kabob platter the 3rd day. Had the 3pc Falafel (best I have ever had) * Not pre-made, but made per your order…very good! Had the 3pc grape leaves which were very good also. For dessert the Baklava was awesome. All 3 days I went the owner walked around and gave complimentary hot jasmine tea and the last day slices of watermelon which was cold and sweet….great finish after eating all the food! The owner and all his restaurant staff great people! Definitely will be back!
