Gaster Error
It’s pretty good Mexican restaurant. There’s quite a few restaurants around Jefferson but this is probably one of the best, maybe top 2. The restaurant itself is actually very nice and clean. Most Mexican restaurants I go to look kind of shabby but not this one. The staff was nice and the food was also good. The only reason I’m docking a point is because of the time. It took a little while for the food to come out, but it looks like that may have more to do with the small staff. If this place got a few more employees who are as nice and professional as the current ones, this place would definitely become my “go to” Mexican restaurant. Overall it’s a good restaurant I’d recommend.
Edit: I went back about a week later and was blown away to see that the staff had indeed increased. My food was out really quick and was pleased with all of it. I asked a waitress and as it turns out there was a change in owners which is why they we’re a bit low on staff for a little while. Taking my previous review into account along with how my newest visit turned out I happy to change my score from a 4/5 to a 5/5. I strongly recommend this place to anyone in the area or if you just want good Mexican food.

Good food but menu was misleading. Under the #13 taco salad, nothing was mentioned about sour cream or guacamole, so I ordered it as no tomato and didn’t tell them to leave the other off (because I didn’t know it would be there to remove). However, when I got the salad, it had the sour cream and guacamole on it. If you like that on your salad, you would have been happy. When I moved the quac and cream to the side, I realized the bottom half of my salad was FULL of liquid. The shell was good above the liquid, but below it, it was soggy for sure. The chicken was shredded but had decent flavor. The order came with salsa and chips, so I filled up on those.

Completely surprised with this place! Stop in for lunch, ample parking, seated immediately. Large menu, and all three of us received our food very quickly! Huge portions, better priced than any Mexican food place around. Everything tasted great, refills on drinks, by the super friendly staff. I hope this play sticks around! Definitely will return

I felt the food was good although I do believe the market for Mexican food in the area if highly saturated. There is roughly 8 Mexican food restaurants within 10 minutes of Jefferson. With that said Google told us the restaurant closed at 10 and we arrived at 8:40 pm to find out they changed their closing hours to 9pm. As we started to leave because we do not like to show up last minute and be those people, they ran outside and asked us to please try the restaurant. We agreed. we were all happy with our meals.
I found a couple of items I feel like could be better.
1. Cheese dip was runny
2. They charge an additional fee to pay with a card.
2a. They then ask you out loud what tip you would like to leave. Maybe it’s just me but I prefer to be able to write my tip in without announcing to everyone what I am doing and how much I am leaving.
Overall a good experience. We all felt the meats were seasoned well and left full and happy.

The food is outstanding! Everything we ordered tasted authentic and fresh. You could tell it was made with pride and love. Order the Texas Margarita if you like fresh squeezed mix that tastes like you’re in Cancun. Pour your love and money into this place early and often. It is worth your support.

Staffing is critical for a good experience.
I was once in restaurant management and therefore know the importance of proper staffing. The one and only server was working hard to please as many as she could, however as a lone server this was an impossible task. The food quality, combined with the slightly higher prices, together with the understaffed experience is what earned this 2 star rating. I ordered the Texas fajitas. This is my typical TEST for a first experience at any Mexican restaurant. There were only 4 shrimp on the entire hot plate. The steak and the chicken were low quality. Very grisselly and tough. The flavor however, was good. The restaurant was clean and the restrooms were clean. The fact that the prices are slightly higher than others and the food quality is lower than others in the area, I will probably not return. Any of these problems can be easily corrected and I hope that they will.

I called this restaurant to try to place a take out order. No one answered.
The restaurant was across the street so I just drove across. I ordered a chicken soup to go.
Literally all that has to be done is to pour the soup in the to go container.
The lady at the front was nice. She said it would take a while since they were busy. I asked how long and she said 10 to 15 minutes.
There were more employees than customers. The Servers wore personal clothes. One Server had this Sideshow Bob hair, character from The Simpsons, and would shake it out and make his hair move around over the food. The Servers did not wear masks which made me wonder what was going on in the kitchen. I witnessed Servers running into other Servers at the kitchen door and coming out with one small side of sour cream. Then running to another table while everyone is giving orders to everyone else as they walked by.
Everyone was flustered for no reason at all. Since I had arrived there were no new customers that had arrived. 30 minutes later I finally asked for a refund. I could not wait any longer.. The soup was $9.09 and I paid $15.00 to leave a tip.
The nice lady gave me back $10.00 cash and kept the $5.00 tip I guess because she felt she deserved it?
Either way they can keep it, first time and last time I visit this place. Good luck. ✌

The food was delicious! I even enjoyed their salsa and I was pleasantly surprised that even their rice tasted really good.

Food was good, and real good sized portions too! The prices were fair, and the service was pretty quick even though they were pretty busy. If dining in, you pay at the register on your way out. I kept waiting for my check to come to the table, and finally asked for it. I was told the checks are at the register. I would recommend trying this place out!
