Where do I even begin?! The appetizers were to die for — the kampachi collars, ribs, and oysters were absolute standouts. The pasta course was next level, especially the agnolotti and pappardelle — easily some of the best we’ve had! We even ordered the pork chop Milanese thinking we wouldn’t have enough food… we were definitely wrong (but no regrets ).
We ended the night with tiramisu and mochi malasadas, which were the perfect sweet finish.
Our server Micah was fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and his wine pairings were spot on. Highly recommend! Hands down one of the best Italian spots in Kona town.

We had an amazing early valentines celebration. Sal made a great wine recommendation to pair with our appetizers. We took our time enjoying our dinner and received great service all the way through. The food wow’d us, we’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely spectacular dining experience. Italian is my favorite, and Walua Social did not disappoint. Started w/ the house Mai Tai (I-Tai-liano style) which was among the best cocktails I’ve had anywhere in Kona. Took a chance on the baby red romaine salad @$18, I don’t think I’ve ever spent that much on a salad but will be ordering it every time I return. Perfection. The Rigatoni Bolognaise was to die for. Come at opening time (5pm) on a quiet midweek evening for attentive, timely & professional service. Micah is as much the bartender as the host and head waiter, he runs a tight ship. I will be returning here VERY often. Mahalo, Walua Social!

Super nice restaurant and bar on a small hill just outside of the downtown area. The food was excellent and the server was super attentive. We told the bar tender what kind of drinks we like and they came back with some really great cocktails. Best we’ve had on the island.

I can tell that this restaurant is new, but it seems like it will do well. The ocean views from the dining room were stunning. Our server was very nice and our food was so good and fresh. We had the kampachi dish, the mushroom risotto, and a special—a tuscan half chicken with white bean soup.
The decor and set up of the restaurant seemed like an afterthought, but the menu, the service, and the food were quality. The restaurant does offer dessert options (tiramisu, mousse, donuts), but there was no dessert menu, which was a bit odd.
Overall, this restaurant did a great job where it mattered—food and service. It was certainly a pleasant experience and I’d gladly return.

Went to Walua Social last Friday night and it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had on the big island. I have been coming to Hawaii for over 25 years and this meal was one of the best dining experiences I have had that wasn’t poke or sashimi related.
I tend lean toward eating local and find myself having a ton of fish and seafood and Japanese meals while I am in Hawaii (for the same reason I am going to get a steak in Dallas or Oklahoma.)
My chef friend told me that the chef here at Walua Social was a great chef and the food coming out of his kitchen was legit. He was absolutely correct!
Everything from the hospitality and service to the apps, entrees and dessert was incredibly delicious. The portions were larger than I expected (especially for fine dining) but not excessive… All aspects of the meal were well thought out and even the wine menu had a ton of options by the glass, not just by the bottle.
Great dinner. Highly recommended! Make your reservations now,

Nicely done, this restaurant is now on our rotation list. OK wine list and they do have corkage which we used for an aged Gevrey-Chambertin. Better than most service, we’ll be back.

This place was much better on the second floor. The White Bean Dip was delicious, as were the salad, risotto and steak. I had to send my steak back because it wasn’t cooked to my (RARE) specification. It was attempted to serve me a $20 glass of wine in a dessert wine glass. The barkeep said that’s how they do it there but was happy to get me a burgundy glass, much better!
Waikoloa prices without the surroundings, but without the drive.

Everything was perfect. We had the the carpaccio and the Konpachi for our appetizers. Then the risotto, oxtail and the pumpkin angelotti as well as all 3 desserts, cause why not. Service was great and the drinks were perfect. Worth the visit!
