We stopped here before going to a concert at the Guild and it was perfect. It was relatively quick, and food was good, not too pricey. Portions were pretty good size as well. Service was a bit slow because there was only 1 server working, but she was so sweet! Would definitely come back pre concert, and would recommend if you are out of town coming for a concert for sure.

Update- Try the calamari appetizer! It’s really good with the dipping sauces. Great food, we especially like the red snapper al mojo (garlic and butter sauce), red snapper fish tacos and the steak or veggie fajitas! The green salsa is amazing when you order chips to start, don’t forget the guacamole too! Best place to get red snapper in the area. Been here tons, liked everything we’ve tried. We come in for lunch, dinner or take away. The servers are always friendly and attentive.

When it first opened cafe Del Sol had fresh and tasty dishes. Not so much anymore. We had the Nachos to begin with and I had the Pablano Chicken with Mole sauce. The chicken breast was a bit tough and the mole sauce was thick but not very spicy

Good Mexican dishes.
Try the veggie tostada, chicken rice tortilla sauce.
Their green salsa is also delicious.

This place is a little gem that’s been around for 23 years. The food was delicious and the menu expansive. Best chips ever. Great neighborhood place that is struggling so give it a try. Lionel, the owner, is a stitch, really friendly and fun. Highly encourage.

Been to Cafe del Sol, many times. The photo I posted is the steak tostada. It was so delicious. I also has the chicken soup which is like a chicken tortilla soup, but really warm and comforting and tasty. The restaurant is small and cozy on the corner of Menlo Ave and Doyle Street. There’s a parking plaza adjacent to the restaurant and also down another block by Traders Joe’s.

Probably the worst fajitas I’ve eaten in a Mexican restaurant. Ever. Boiled rather than charred and pretty much tasteless. Super disappointing. But the appetisers were ok.

Our server brought us a complementary appetizer, complementary desert, and gave me extra rice and beans in my to go box. The atmosphere and warm and the food is great. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Four of us had a delicious dinner. Service was lovely, atmposphere was quite so we could actually hear each other. Someone commented this isn’t the typical California Mexician food place – exactly! It is better. All four of our main dishes were good. Side of beans had real flavor and wasn’t drowned in cheese. Included a little salad not just for garnish and guacamole. Rice also had nice flavor and texture. Vegetables were grilled not boiled. Prices very reasonable for a sit down, full service in a nice location resturant.
