Place wasn’t what i expected, it’s ok. Food is also ok, nothing wow. It took several minutes before I was even given a menu. Then I get my food and no utensils. The waitress talks to you like she is in a hurry to do other things. I understand food service since I worked in the industry for several yrs when I was young, so to me they could do better. Overall they get 3 stars which here in Brownsville is pretty much average for restaurants here. I would come back and hopefully get attended faster next time. Score would still stay the same due to the quality of the food. Enjoy!

Thank you Lord for this place! You can place a custom order. I asked for an a la Mexicana desheredado omelet with mozzarella cheese. Great date idea. Don’t sleep on this place. Agua de Jamaica is very sweet. Hot sauce is not hot at all.

Their breakfast is reasonably priced and tastes homemade. Their flour tortillas remind me of the tortillas my mom used to make from scratch. The salsa is also very tasty. Not too spicy. Everyone I’ve taken to El Charrito has enjoyed their meal.

The service was great and the restrooms very clean. The food was ok. Need to lay off the garlic though. It destroys the taste of the food. The said was good. I had the charrito plate. The Chile relleno with cheese Was hot and tasted good. The American enchiladas had to much garlic and looked like it was tossed together and sauce put on i,. Did not taste good. The tostada was ok. I feel because we got there 20 minutes before closing time, they didn’t care about the quality of food.

The restaurant on Central next to the hospital was clean and the carne guisada was very good. I will go back.

This is a small restaurant that feels like home. The food is full of home goodness favor. I miss my mom and grandma cooking who are no longer with me. I felt like they made this food for me with the extra love. The server was extra nice and let us sample side dishes that were delicious. I don’t live in south texas anymore but this place makes you want to drive down just to eat this food. The price was more then reasonable as well.
