The order:
Ahi Cakes with Dynamite & Kabayaki Sauce on the side and Furikake Rice, Potato Mac, and Pickeled Veg
Talk about being smacked in the face with flavor. The ahi tofu patties already packed a bunch of flavor and a nice ginger kick. Then take a bite with the green onions and rice crackers for a fresh zing and crunch. Then taking a bite in the dip of their dynamite (spicy aioli) and kabayaki (Teri style) made for that sweet, tangy, Lucious bite with a slight heat kick.
Their potato Mac just zipped up to my top of the list Mac salads. It’s soft, creamy, and oh so great.
We were greeted with smile and friendly staff. Food came out in a jippy and delivered to our table.
There is a small rustic and homey designed seating area with a TV.
We will define it be back as there is a lot more on their menu I want to try. Excited for my next stop here
Other the years, the ginger chicken has changed…cant quite figure it out, but its not as good as it was.
Casual lunch spot with delicious grinds.
They mostly offer plate lunches and have four specialty sandwiches. They also had some daily specials.
I ordered the kimchi Ruben sandwich (a regular item on the menu) and oh my goodness was it incredible (I still think about it and it’s been two weeks since we ate here).
If I recall correctly, sandwiches come with a choice of side- mac salad all the way for me.
Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back.
Free parking available in lot infront of building.
Short walk from Ward Center area.
Service staff friendly and efficient, keep waiting time to a minimum.
Besides their daily specials which sound enticing I decided to go old skool and got their Loco Moco. Let’s break it down.
Gravy was excellent, perfect consistency, full body beefy flavor.
Beef patty smashed and smoky grilled with a nice crust
2 eggs over easy with nice runny yolks.
Perfect rice and potato macaroni sides.
Check out their menu, every dish sounds great and this is in addition to their 4-5 daily specials.
Makes me miss Hawaii even more, life is not fair
Found this hidden gem on Google. 10 min drive from our hotel.
The good:
Katsu curry plate was money.
Breakfast jack burger was solid. Can’t go wrong with a brioche bun.
Very good portions
Plenty of space to dine in
Viet coffee, not too sweet, could be a bit stronger, 20oz good enough to share with the wife
Plenty of free parking
The bad:
None!
Honestly one of the best meals on this trip. Better than all the other restaurants that were pushed to my Insta feed.
Can’t wait to come back and try other items on their menu
Generous portion of a lunch plate.
Good customer service & friendly staff.
What not to love this place?
Ordered ahi katsu $16 + tax which is heaven for my tummy. Though the meat fish itself is a bit dry, it still elevate its flavor coz they got a good seasoned sauce on top of the katsu. Also tried their birthday butter mochi & lemon cake bar. Both perfect for snackin’.
Will surely be back in here to try their other available menu!
