Staff were really rude, the son? maybe, was very disrespectful when taking our order, walking away when we were asking to confirm some points on our order, he couldn’t actually say anything to us after the mom? told him to take our order. He just came over and stood at us, then we gave our order and he walked away without saying anything. Hard to articulate someones face, body language and demeanor online – but this wasn’t good service, we felt awkward being there after this.
The noodles were then average, they were very short almost like they were cut to an inch long for some reason – the son was in the kitchen after taking our order, not sure if they were cut. Or, being it was nearer the end of the night they just use the cut ends.
The noodle dishes had barely any meat in it, got the Kakuni and the Kamo. The pork in the Kakuni was really good, but just a 1″x1″ cube is not enough. The duck slices were undercooked, I know slightly pink is standard but these were far too red.
Got 2x sushi rolls as well – these were good, small rolls however.
After spending $120 w/ tip, felt like it was a rip.
the setting is very nicely done.
Simple menu, yet quality ingredients. We ordered cold soba noodles, 3 different types of sushi rolls, and the eggplant. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we picked. Bonus: the mochi dessert was amazing!!
Service was lovely – our server was attentive, patient, and provided great recommendations from their menu.
Highly recommend and would absolutely go back again.
We ordered sushi, mostly some avocado rolls, and waited over an hour for 5 avocado rolls and 3 fish rolls. That was only part of the issue.
When the rolls came they were brown and I couldn’t even tell they were avocado. Why the resraurat would serve rotten avocados after 1 hour and simply not have the integrity and decency to say ‘I am so sorry but our avocados went bad and we cannot serve them’ is beyond me.
But what is worse, they put soy sauce on top to try and sneak or mask the flavor and appearance. So they clearly knew they were serving us rotten avocados and wanted them to pass for good ones.
We ate a few of them, but sort of fell for it because the sauce was masking it, but ultimately we realized what we were eating was rotten, opened them all up, and couldn’t eat them all because it was so gross, and felt horrible that we ate rotten food by someone tricking us.
When I approached our waiter, she offered to take 1 of the 5 rotten rolls.off the menu. Thats what prompted me to speak to a manager.
To the managers credit when I politely confronted her, she agreed with me and immediately took the 5 rolls off our bill and we left, still disgusted by what had happened.
What sat with me was that the manager knew what she was serving, the sushi chef knew what he was serving and the waitress as well. And that says an enormous ammount of the lack of integrity.
I dont care about a meal being slow or food not being the best. I get it. But when a restaurant knowingly serves bad food, it begs the question, ‘what else are they doing and not telling us’.
We go out to eat but a basic part of that contract is trust…trust that the people serving us food are honest and care and would not knowingly serve rotten food.
This was done with full knowledge and intention.
I sincerely hope that someone who owns this reads this message and actually cares.
