Nice place for a drink maybe, but for eating out there are far better options in New York.
The server knocked my beer over because she wasn’t paying attention when she was grabbing large plates off the table. The beer spilled on my pants and jacket. She didn’t comp or discount the half spilled beer. Felt weird about that.
Regardless, the Blue Point pumpkin beer was really good. Wish I had the whole pint
The tap list upstairs is shorter than downstairs (you can still get anything from downstairs but that means the bartender has to go down and up) but it and the liquor anecdotes was fine for the time we were spending. The gigantic food menu caters to everyone, but we stuck to basics: artichoke dip, burger, fries. It’s a touch pricey – $29 for a dozen wings? Those better be HUGE – but tasty, and well seasoned across the dishes.
The bartenders were fantastic, friendly, chatty when there was time for that, and fun to be around. They were also quite good at knowing when the next round was needed, all too well. It was a pleasure to be there for several hours (especially since my team won over my friend’s alma mater)!
It’s also easy to wash your hands before eating them fries. They have a good selection of tap beers. The hamburger I had was $21. I’ll return here next time I visit Manhattan.
