Really want to like this place, especially since it’s the only weekend breakfast place in a 15? mile radius during the winter (if someone knows of something else please share).
This restaurant really has no motivation to improve given the captive audience with few other options. Unfortunately it successfully motivates me to cook breakfast at home next weekend.
One bright spot was the hostess, who was doing at least triple duty, which was appreciated but painful to witness, such a hard worker will burn out quickly in that environment.
The server was perfunctory and clearly rushing from one thing to another.
The food was “meh” and the coffee was disappointingly bitter.
All in all an underwhelming experience left with the majority of my entree still on the plate because I couldn’t tell if it was off or if the bitterness of the coffee had thrown off my senses.
Review Update 4/14/2024:
After taking a break, gave the restaurant one more chance and this will sadly be the last.
I officially miss the Dennys with the broken furnace to this.
The menu has been changed for the worse, service was slow, and there was no hostess today.
Waited 1 hour for undercooked eggs with the eggs florentine… then the hard chunks of uncrumbled feta, canned black olives and cold fries & pita with the gyro platter were a final straw.
My dining companion said “We should have gone to The Barn” and I agree.
Not what I expected, prices are reasonable. Food was ok, there was this one waitress/server who touched his nose multiple times as if he had the sniffles. I went there one time and sadly won’t return back. Spent roughly $30 for 2 People (Lunch time). This was an experience I wouldn’t want no one to endure.
Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. How you prepare and serve this dish tells me so much about what I should expect from the rest of your offerings.
I placed my order, on the menu for $10.99. I have never been so disappointed with this dish as I was this morning. The gravy was plentiful, however fairly bland and there were a lonely 6 small pieces of cut up sausage link in it…1/2 of a sausage link. Maybe. The biscuits weren’t exceptional, but at least they weren’t Pillsbury.
The service was good and the staff friendly, so they do have that going for them. I will give them another shot but I will have to lower my expectations.
Our waitress was kind and professional.
