Since opening my first restaurant almost twenty years ago a third opportunity recently presented itself to me. I was encouraged by a group of loyal friends, my amazing business broker Charles Jay and many faithful customers that a new dining prospect in North Macon would be a welcome addition to the list of fine eateries in our city. After extensive renovation, under the direction of designer Paul Rodgers, Christian’s on Bass Road was established. I am now ready to invite you to my new place for an outstanding dining experience. I am looking forward to continuing what has been my lifelong passion…creating superior dishes in a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

Christian’s has always been great food and great service for me. Today was my first day going for lunch and I was shocked when I saw the reviews weren’t higher.
The Chef is amazing and it’s great food.
I had an amazing steak lunch with perfect green beans for $24. My wife had a custom made crab cake over baby greens because she’s avoiding gluten and it was phenomenal. The Chef took the time to give the dish a little extra with some avocado and papaya. ❤️
I have never ever had a meal that wasn’t five stars here.

We absolutely love Christians and wish it were closer to our home. We have been there numerous times and have never been disappointed unless they are out of one of favorite wines.

The food is always masterfully prepared, fresh and delicious. The atmosphere and service are always impeccable. We have had larger groups there or just an intimate dinner for two.

Regardless of the occasion, you can’t go wrong here. Be sure to make reservations in advance as they can get busy.

Tried almost all the fine dining restaurants in Macon this is the first time in Christian. ordered snails and crab cake for appetizer. there were not much flavor in snails, taste plain. the crab cake was alright. the seafood entry was good, however the duck was over cooked. it supposed medium rare. it was over cooked and not as tender as Natalie‘s and the Davetail downtown. overall, service is good the food need be improved for the menu prices. not going to come back.

Nice little place with good service. I did not like how the seafood thermidor was served. The portions were huge and it made it feel less classy than it should have been. Sauce was overflowing, plate was too small, there was too much sauce, too much of everything. The rest of the meal and experience was good and I’ve been there before, it’s still a good restaurant.

Service was excellent, food was very good but not what I expected it to be for the price. Escargot was tough, and there was not enough Champagne cream sauce for the salmon en croute.
Nice atmosphere, relaxing, romantic.

Five star French dining for sure. Our waitress was phenomenal, and I’m certain she can say the specials menu in her sleep. I cant say enough good things about the food. The vibe and the music was just right. Valentines dinner for 2 costed roughly $150 plus tip. We had apps, drinks, sodas, entrees, and desert. If you want a fine dining experience, definitely go to Christian’s

EDIT (10/30/22): Went a 2nd time, and still wonderful! If you aren’t sure what to get, try the duck with cherry sauce for an entree. Also, if they have chocloate mousse cake, get it – texture is amazing. SO GOOD.

A date night delight! Wife and I came here on a recommendation fron friends and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The atmosphere is relaxed and decor (such as no clocks on the wall) invite you to simply enjoy the meal. The pacing, of when different items came out, also works well with this.

Wife got their duck with cherry sauce, I got a 16 oz. pork chop (which is seasonal). Also had an appetizer, dessert, and drinks.

Service was impeccable and location is very convenient.

Highly recommend for a date night or elevated dinner!

For those wondering about dress code, by the way, I wore nice jeans and an untucked collared shirt and was fine. Saw other guys wearing slacks or khakis as well, some ladies were dressed up but others wore jeans.

Disappointing Birthday Dinner at Christian’s

My husband and I visited Christian’s to celebrate my birthday today, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped for. My husband made a reservation for 6:30 PM, but when we arrived, we were told our table wasn’t ready because people were still sitting. The hostess asked if we were okay waiting at the bar, and since we had driven 35 minutes to the restaurant, we decided to wait. After ordering drinks, we were finally seated about 20–25 minutes later.

You would think that after waiting, a waiter or waitress would check on us or at least offer bread. Nope! We sat there for another 20 minutes before I had to ask if someone could take our order. Finally, a server came over, shared the specials, and asked if we wanted an appetizer. We ordered the shrimp in mango sauce and were told the bread was being “freshly baked.”

During this time, another couple arrived—who I assume were regulars. Their orders were taken immediately, and they received a fresh basket of bread. Meanwhile, we were still waiting for both bread and our appetizer. About 30 minutes later, our appetizer arrived: three shrimp for the two of us to share. By this point, the couple next to us had already received their soup and had their full order taken.

I reminded the waitress that we still hadn’t received any bread, and her response was the same: “Yes, we are baking fresh bread for you.” After waiting another 45 minutes—and watching the couple who arrived after us be served ahead of us—we finally got our food. The portions were shockingly small for the price, and at that point, my appetite was gone. We asked for the check and a to-go plate for my one lamb chop, which took another 20 minutes to arrive.

Our total was $156, and we left $180 with a tip, not because the service was great, but because our waitress was at least nice, and I didn’t want to feed into the stereotype that African Americans don’t tip. However, there were no sincere apologies for the excessive delays, no complimentary drink or dessert for my birthday, and no acknowledgment of the terrible service.

My husband left the restaurant upset and still hungry. On the way home, we had to stop at McDonald’s—something that should never happen after spending nearly $200 at a fine dining restaurant. This experience completely ruined my birthday. Definitely would not recommend.

I’ve always enjoyed the food here, but the low rating is due to their overly complicated and annoying reservation system.

There is no option for online reservations like most other finer dining options in Macon, so you have to call. I made my last reservation for my birthday about 2 weeks out.

The day before the reservation, I received a somewhat rude voicemail saying that if I didn’t call back to confirm my reservation I’d made, then I wouldn’t have a table.

I understand plans change and they don’t want no shows, but having to call back a second time to confirm is a little annoying. Fast forward to an hour before our reservation, and I realize as I’m trying to get ready and texting our babysitter, I receive ANOTHER call saying I need to confirm my reservation otherwise I can’t be seated inside and will be subject to patio availability.

I call back and inform them this is now my 3rd phone call with them about dinner. The hostess was snippy on the phone and didn’t seem to care.

Moving forward, I’ll be going elsewhere. As a busy working mom, I don’t have time for 15 phone calls to confirm a dinner.

The service, ambiance and meal were all excellent. The filet and the sea bass just melted in your mouth. The salad looked almost too good to eat. This was a perfect spot to enjoy a lovely birthday dinner. I highly recommend.
