Maya Halal Taqueria Union City – Facebook
Maya Halal Taqueria – Experience Flavorful Halal Tacos Burritos in …
Reviews
You can taste the freshness right away — nothing heavy, nothing lazy, nothing mass-produced. Just bold flavor, clean ingredients, and that perfect balance of Mexican comfort with the trust and warmth of a halal kitchen.
The carne asada and birria stood out…And even the tortillas… man, it all tastes like someone actually thought about the details instead of just phoning it in.
I met the owners and you can see the pride in the service, and the sense that this place is doing something meaningful — blending cultures, respecting traditions, and giving the community something special.
If you’re anywhere near Union City, stop by. This isn’t just “great halal food.” It’s great food, period.
The shrimp were so fresh and delicious. The Tacos had the perfect blend of spices and seasoning.
We love coming to Maya’s for their great service and delicious food.
music was too loud, but the waitress graciously reduced the volume upon request. staff were overall very nice.
food arrived and looked great.
chicken flautas was dry and tasteless.
chicken supreme burrito was packed and tasty but too salty.
I’d love to return and try the tacos.
waitress asked how the food was and I mentioned it was dry, which appeared to have left her baffled, but I think she took our comments back and it appears nothing was made of it.
I’d still like to return for another try and hopefully raise the stars.
I ordered a quesabirria taco plate and asked to substitute the beef for chicken and swap the cheese for guacamole. The waiter initially said the cheese couldn’t be substituted for guac. After some discussion, he said he could remove the cheese and provide guacamole on the side instead.
When the food arrived, it came with both melted cheese inside the tacos and guacamole on the side (not what we agreed to). When we pointed this out, the waiter suggested I should just “scrape the melted cheese off and eat it,” and said we’d be charged if they had to remake it because he “repeated the order.” After some back-and-forth (since he never clearly stated the tacos would still include cheese), he finally agreed to remake it without charging us. Mistakes happen, so that part was fine
The bigger issue was at checkout. Another server came with the total, repeated our items, and we paid Google Pay. After we paid, he asked, “Are you sure there are only 2 birria tacos?” We said there were 3. He was about to charge us again for a “third” taco, but something felt off, especially since the amount we paid already seemed correct, so we asked for the itemized bill. He walked away, came back, and then said we had actually already been charged for 3 taco plates. Had we not checked the bill, they would have successfully charged us for a 4th plate
On top of that, the food was bland and lacked flavor.
f you go, ask for an itemized receipt and double-check everything before paying.
