Never have I gone into a place with such high hopes and left with such distain. My boyfriend and I drove up from Fargo and were starving. We found this place and it looked promising. First mistake. My boyfriend ordered a BLT and asked if it was just bacon lettuce and tomato to make sure there was no mayo and the waitress was rude ensuring that of course it was just bacon lettuce and tomato. Bad news there was mayo. I ordered the bacon cheese burger and onion rings expecting them to be good. Second mistake. The onion rings seemed over cooked, under-battered and raw all at the same time. The bacon cheese burger was average I suppose if your idea of average is hard and hockey puck like. As I went to hand my card over I was then informed that they don’t accept card only cash and checks. It’s 2025. No where was it stated that they don’t accept cards. I then had to go to an ATM down the road, pay an extra three dollars just to pull out a 20. I THOROUGHLY do NOT recommend eating here. Also the root bear is bad.

Have loved this place since I was a kid. The Monster burger is amazing and they have the best onion rings I’ve ever had. And the Cherry Coke is like no other.

The current owners are a JOKE! They also own a crappy north side cafe, cigs in restaurant, pests, and DIRTY kitchen! They bought the Kegs and have ruined it! Prices are INSANE now, food and service have gone down BAD! Orders wrong, zero flavor to joes or burgers, fries and onion rings are TRASH and soggy now! They up charge for root beer or flavored cokes and they aren’t reporting anything to the IRS, it’s all cash! Someone buy his and SAVE it!

We ordered chocolate shakes and we’re left with broken hearts it’s was like drinking milk no ice cream I don’t know how or why they would serve that otherwise sloppy joes are delicious and good fries

Parking was terrible, we ended up parking way down the street and thats okay, but when we went up to the inside to order, they ignored us forever. We finally got to order and they made us feel like they didn’t want us there or to ask us any questions. After we stepped out, a couple after us walked to their cars talking about how they weren’t going to eat somewhere that can’t provide decent service. Getting our food took forever and they forgot 1 of our drinks and it was still the wrong size. Also they only take cash or check. Food was thrown together, but those onions rings were definitely delicious! Probably not going back.

Tough to rate. Really inexpensive but the burgers are tiny and the side of fries with the combo was small as well. Very much a you get what you pay for. Over it was indeed OK to good. Drive up service is kind of neat. I’m sure I’ll be back.

Whenever we move to a new city, we try out the local fare. This place is a great little burger drive-in. It’s a little building that is accented by two large “kegs” on either side, hence the name. My family of four ate there for less than $30 and the burgers are great. They even have different flavors that you can add to your drinks. My wife got a chocolate Coke. Bring cash though as they do not accept credit cards. If you need cash, there’s a bank just across the railroad tracks from the restaurant.

Absolutely love the drummies and add onion rings on place of fries. So good!

Enjoyed a sloppy Joe, more than I thought I would! Also go a float and a shake. All good, good prices and cool building from 1935 I think. Not alot of parking but plenty of street partying if the lot is full. No large vehicle parking. Five spots with waitress service at your car.

To their credit, the food was pretty good for a drive in style restaurant. The food service was as expected beyond one waitress who was rather short, whatever, everyone has a bad day.
Beyond that, this was legitimately one of the worst experiences I’ve had at an eatery in a long time. When we got the bill it was considerably more than we expected, around $12 more than what we calculated using the menu prices, after tax. Confused, we went inside where the (presumed) owner gruffly explained that somehow root beer is more expensive then other pops, although it’s nearly impossible to realize by just reading the menu. Fine, we may have just missed that on the menu.
Getting home, we then realized that they didn’t even follow their menu prices on 3 of the 4 meals we ordered, in one case being 4 dollars more expensive on the receipt than the menu had printed. I understand businesses are allowed to charge whatever they please for food, but at least be consistent or update your menus..
I’ve never stopped going somewhere due to one bad experience, but I suppose there is a first time for everything.
