It’s getting three stars because our waitress was great. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the food. While they did make an attempt at Mexican cuisine, the chips were stale, the rice was basically tomato paste pressed into long grain white rice, the black beans were puke brown and flavorless, and their “variety” of hot sauce never exceeded mild. Additionally, their version of coleslaw should be outlawed in all 50 states because it was equivalent to torture that you would find in Guantanamo Bay.

All that being said, the atmosphere was nice. We did find the establishment to be cozy. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and pleasant. However, they should really consider changing the food they offer because they fail miserably at Mexican cuisine. On the plus side, they did have Pepsi instead of Coke though; so that’s a win. ‍♂️

Really good food. Everyone is friendly, and very helpful with the different dishes and options. Right in the center of Sussex, and never had a problem a parking spot on the street. Rarely crowded, so it’s been easy to find seating, especially with covid going on.
BYOB, but they had some beer glasses and a bottle opener available, which was a huge help.

I was debating on writing anything but honestly this place did not deliver. I saw the reviews and said hey might be a little gen. Went in on a Saturday afternoon and it was dead the salsa was pretty good and that’s all this place seems to think celery goes in Mexican food. As or food was being prepared I can hear what I assume was the manager or owner tell the cook how to make the food. Not a good sign at all. The food arrived and it was just bland I had flautas and my wife had the marinate burrito wrap both had nothing and oddly the burrito had celery no idea why. The service was lacking as well. I wish it was different but it wasn’t

Excellent Food… Maybe the best Mexicali Style I have ever had!!! This is what Mexicali Food SHOULD taste like. I have spent years traveling SoCal, Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico.
The whole meal… from the Homemade Salsa (Which tasted like something and not tomato sauce from a can!) and Homemade Chips (NOT Greasy!)… Guacamole was seasoned exceptionally and was made of REAL Avocados and not some green frozen grease! The Fish Tacos were superb and the Chef should sell English Style Fish and Chips somewhere as the frying and the fresh fish were First Class. We also had the Chicken Tortillas that were fresh, not soggy and HUGE…
Excellent Experience… Arrrrrriiiiiiibbbbbaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

Good lunch. Had the combo platter. Make sure you order the house hot sauce if you like jalapeños. Good service and complimentary chips and salsa. No complaints.

This place is AWEFUL! I would have given this review a 0 out of 5 but apparently you have to select at least one star. We ordered the most simple item (burrito with cheese). These people literally messed it up twice! Very frustrating and not worth the time, hassell, or money. We will not go there again!!
