The Little Beet Review (Washington D.C.)

Overall, The Little Beet definitely impressed me. I love how the whole menu is gluten-free and that the items I ordered were fresh and flavorful.

Clean Eating, Muted Impact

Little Beet positions itself as a modern answer to fast-casual wellness dining—seasonal, customizable bowls built around clean ingredients, as outlined on its menu. On paper, it promises nourishment with intention. In practice, the experience lands softly, too softly.

We ordered the Low FODMAP bowl and the seasonal steak bowl. Both arrived looking markedly different from the menu photos, stripped of the color and vitality that initially entice. Flavor followed suit. The ingredients tasted fine, but bland, with little contrast or depth to make the bowls memorable. The steak, in particular, lacked the savory lift one expects from a featured protein.

Service hovered at an acceptable-but-disengaged level, falling short of the attentiveness that elevates fast-casual into something more hospitable. The room itself reinforces that ceiling: functional, bright, and impersonal, recalling a Chipotle-style assembly line rather than a destination.

Little Beet isn’t bad. It’s simply underwhelming—competent food in a space that feels designed for efficiency, not pleasure. For a concept built on mindful eating, it could benefit from a sharper sense of flavor and care. At two stars out of five, it satisfies hunger, but not curiosity.

I ordered the salmon bowl with rice and greens online through doordash. I paid for extra veggies (sweet potatoes). The order came without the dressing and sweet potatoes.
They acknowledged the incomplete delivery only when I said I am not looking for any refund or credits. I was told the miso dressing is light and clear and you cannot see it on the salad.
The customer service can improve to prepare the order right and to not make wrong excuses to cover up the mistakes.

The bowls look vibrant and healthy, but unfortunately the flavor didn’t match the presentation. Everything tasted dry and dull. This was my first time here. I don’t think I’ll returned for overpriced bad food.

I visited this restaurant with my family, and we had a wonderful experience. They offer an impressive selection of healthy and gluten-free options, which we truly appreciated. We sampled the steak, salmon, and chicken, all of which were prepared to perfection. The service was top-notch—attentive and professional throughout our meal. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this establishment to others. I only wish they had a location in Maryland!

I ate pretty clean and it’s hard to find places, especially salad places that have hot meat items on top. It’s always cold. I’m so happy I found this place. They have hot chicken and raised pork on top of either lettuce, rice or quinoa. I chose with the lettuce everything about this bowl is tasty. Everything tastes great.

If you’re looking for a healthy meal that doesn’t sacrifice flavor, look no further. I recently visited Little Beet and was blown away by their menu. I tried both the steak and the salmon, and both were high-quality and delicious. It’s hard to find a place that balances ‘healthy’ and ‘tasty’ so well. To make it even better, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great visit. Excellent food and even better service. Highly recommend!

I’m gluten, dairy and soy free and i had the roasted chicken bowl with hummus. It was really good and I had no reaction. They said they are a completely gluten free restaurant, the only dairy is in their crema and the cookie has soy. It was delicious and I might be back during this trip.

I recently visited Little Beet and tried their Yuzu Poke bowl and a Field Greens Custom Plate, and I must say, I was blown away by the flavors and quality of the food. Little Beet is definitely a hidden gem in the heart of the city!

The Yuzu Poke bowl was an absolute delight. The combination of fresh, cubed salmon, perfectly cooked rice, and a generous serving of Yuzu sauce added a unique twist that made this poke bole stand out from the rest. I loved the variety of toppings and the perfect balance of textures. It was truly a refreshing and satisfying meal.

I also had the opportunity to create my own custom plate, and I was amazed by the options available. The build-your-own concept allowed me to choose from a wide range of fresh ingredients, including a variety of proteins, vegetables, and flavorful sauces. The staff was friendly and patient as I made my selections, ensuring that my meal turned out exactly the way I wanted it. The custom plate was beautifully presented, and the portion size was generous.

Although the total was a little high at $38.17 for the two orders, the quality and taste of the food were worth it. The ingredients were clearly of high quality, and the attention to detail in the preparation was evident.

If you’re a poke lover or simply looking for a healthy and delicious meal, I highly recommend visiting Little Beat. Their Yuzu Poke bowl and build-your-own custom options will leave you satisfied and craving for more. It’s the perfect spot for a quick lunch or a casual dinner. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their offerings!
