My son came across this small take out place and we keep going back for the delicious brisket loaded fries. It’s a small place with seasonal outdoor picnic tables but they are big on flavor, we have tried the chicken sandwiches, Mac and cheese, onion rings and fries. Definitely worth the reasonable price for the loaded fries and daily specials, you must add Mac and cheese sauce when you try the fries and you will be going back!

I’ve ordered from Chick and the Pig several times and the food is genuinely very good — no complaints at all about the quality or taste.
However, on my most recent visit, several items were missing from my order. The bags are usually tied shut, and since this has never happened before, I didn’t think to check before leaving. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize the mistake until I got home.
To their credit, someone from the restaurant actually called to apologize and asked if I could come back to pick up the missing items. I appreciated the call and the apology, and they even offered to drive the items to me. But by that point I was already home, eating, and not planning to head back out.
Mistakes happen, and I do appreciate that they tried to make it right. That said, it was frustrating and inconvenient, so I would strongly recommend checking your order before leaving — even if the bag is tied and everything seems fine.
The food is great. Just double-check your order.

We LOVE the food at Bold, so we wanted to check this place out. We ordered the chili, burger, mashed potatoes, 1/2 slab of ribs, corn muffin, and a piece of the pecan pie.
The ribs were very good, but not hot. The chili had no taste and was cold. The burger was also cold. It tasted like it was taken out of the fridge and maybe put on the griddle to try to warm it up. The mash potatoes were creamy and tasty. The pie was very good too.
If we ever go back, I think we will stick to the ribs.

The Chick and The Pig… see the picture for the order. While ordering we weren’t sure about which menu to order from because there are 3 different ones depending on where you search. Ordered from their website, which was very confusing. You have an option to remove a bunch of toppings from the 50/50 burger, which are not in the description, so you might assume you’re getting the toppings- just as confusing as me trying to explain it. Anyway, this 50/50 sandwich – nothing special. I took out pieces of the meats to try by itself- no seasoning on the burger, very light smoke if any on the pork, loaded with coleslaw and bbq sauce so that’s where the flavors were but a good size sandwich. Fried chicken- texture of breading was almost like corn meal, juicy, decent flavor but nothing exciting. Good size on the wings but texture was not so good- with carryout only, they should have been waaay more crispy to hold up to the travel – very soggy and the hot sauce was mild at best, BBQ sauce was good. Good potatoes with gravy. Good – creamy – slightly sweet coleslaw. Really good Mac N Cheese. Good but not unique beans. For the money, a good amount of food with leftovers for tomorrow. We didn’t hate it, but we won’t be in a hurry to go back. ✌️

this place is takeout only. The smash burger was delicious (3 patties) and the notorious PIG was awesome. Great service not much ambience because it is just a small area you can order and pick up food. I would love to see them open up some sort of sit down that would be amazing. I will definitely be back and tell friends.

I finally got a chance to try this place and I cannot say that I will be back. Went on a Sunday at 6pm and they were out of just about 50% of the menu. Absolutely the most flavorless brisket I have ever had. Was it even smoked? The mashed potatoes and gravy were just blah. Asked for BBQ sauce on the brisket. Could they spare the dabbles of sauce they put on it? My wife thought her pulled pork was dry and she thought the same about the amount of BBQ sauce on hers as well. She did like the baked beans. The quality, the prices for what you get and the food were just not worth it.

I’ve ate here several times now and hands down I have never had better fried chicken! The staff has always been super friendly while I’ve waited for my orders, I’ve tried the pulled pork which was also delicious and moist, and such a great creamy mac and cheese, I’m glad it’s not your basic yellow boxed or bagged mac and cheese, you can tell the sauce is made with love. I will continue to come back here as one of my top go to’s, and can’t wait for when they get indoor seating.

I’ve been on the road for 4 days. I haven’t eaten today and I live close to this place called the chick and the pig in Algonquin and I figured I’d try it and I order food first off they don’t accept cash. Second off I go and get food and I order brisket like I told you and they gave me pork and they’re like oh well. Sorry, we’ll contact our manager who’s not here and we’ll let them know that you’re upset. Have a good night. They might contact you soon with an email or phone call and refund your money. They told us it was brisket and it’s just light colored brisket. I’m going to show you a picture and please let me know what you think and then they’re going to tell me. Oh well. Sorry too bad

We ordered online while we were in town for an appointment. Placed our order around 6:54 for 2 burger Wednesday deals, and it was done probably within 10 minutes. The burger hit the spot! Perfectly cooked (not well done like some places) great seasoning. If we are in the area we will grab something more than a burger, since that set the bar pretty high.

Ordered a catering order for a friends giving on November 30. Since there was 10 of us I ordered the chicken and ribs with mashed and gravy for 10, perfect amount. Everyone loved the food. Worked with Kaylee see was fantastic to work with she also delivered it. Great experience all around!!!!
