The food is delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s a great choice for everyday dining.

Amazing sushi and wonderful service! The sushi was beautifully prepared and incredibly fresh—you can really tell a lot of care goes into how each piece is made and presented. Every bite tasted well-balanced.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They made the whole experience warm and enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great sushi and genuinely kind service!

Rolls ranged from $12-14, good price for what it is.
I got lion king , honey bee, mango roll, jalapeño bomber ,and pink lady roll.
All very good! It was nothing crazy I’ve had better sushi but I’d come back. It’s close to me and got the job done.
Server was nice and gave us a stamp card! Cozy restaurant, decent prices for sushi. Total came to be around $80 for 5 rolls and one nigiri

Cozy dining experience. They stay busy, yet it never seems crowded. Service is great, food is excellent. Reasonable pricing. Definitely a must go if your in the area.

Great flavors, great rolls. Though they only had one waiter working during busy hours, so service was a little slower and dishes came out staggered. Good food made up for it

Haven’t been here since they changed ownership and name which was about two years now, maybe more. Went here on ac Friday night about an hour and a half to closing. The place wasn’t packed but we still waited about 10 minutes for a table to be cleared. Food was just okay. We got the chicken kara-age to start which was pretty good. We then got the lion king roll and godzilla roll. The godzilla roll was just okay. I didn’t quite like that it had imitation crab for the price. The fake crab made the roll taste cheap and not very appetizing. The lion king roll was kind of small in size but it tasted ok. They didn’t broil the top to give it that roasted salmon taste. We then got a curry tonkatsu don. In all honesty, the curry was not good. I think I would have done better with one of those Japanese curry blocks and made it at home. The curry didn’t look appetizing at all, it looked like they added a lot of corn starch to thicken it up and you could see the lumpyness of the sauce. We also had a bento box with california roll and sashimi. This was good but the rice was not fresh at all and was kind of dry and hard. We also had a bowl of beef upon. This was I think the most impressive of all our dishes. There was alot of beef and noodles and a good amount of veggies. The soup had a lot of msg though so it made me very thirsty afterwards. I think in the future I would just get the simple rolls.

Chill sushi spot with great food and a lot of options. It has the best miso soup I’ve had in the Bay Area and the fish always tastes fresh. Staff is friendly and genuinely cares about feedback. I’ve started here regularly because the food is that good, highly recommend.

Ducked in here on a rainy Sunday for a quick bite. It’s a little gem of a place.
Shisimi is fresh, very good quality, we had hamachi and salmon. The rolls were good. I really liked the chicken karaage.
I enjoyed their over the top decorations, especially the Hello Kitty over the doorway to the kitchen.
They have an unusually long menu, I got a chuckle out of the kids menu section. I have to google some of the references when I get home.
On the way out, we saw a family with a little kid, the kid was wide eyed with the decorations….so much to look at.
Oh…they have a card thing where you can collect stamps for a free roll. Ironically last night I was watching a K-Drama (My Demon) and saw a similar card in the show.
The Fates must be messing with me again.

What a cute cosy spot in El Cerrito. We were staying with friends and this place is literally 5min walk from the house 🙂 I was craving some miso soup so just walked there! Super convenient.
Place is very cosy. Service is friendly and warm and bathrooms are very clean 🙂 me happy!
I went there with my 4 years old daughter and they were so thoughtful to bring complimentary edamame for her 🙂
We enjoyed our bento boxes which came with miso soup, rice, salad orange slice and mine had 2 different sushi choices and for my child i ordered shrimp tempura and chicken teriyaki. Lots of leftovers which we happily took home 🙂
They also gave me complimentary sweets for my child at the end but I declined since we don’t do sugar but again, very thoughtful 🙂
A beautiful experience I recommend to everyone who enjoys Japanese food.
