This location recently replaced Fortels Pizza at the same site. Not much has physically changed other than the signs and some painting. The menu, however, is totally different (not necessarily a bad thing). There are fewer ‘pre-defined’ pizzas, but a large selection of ‘make your own’ items. We got their Meat Lovers equivalent and to be fair, it did come loaded, edge to edge. It was little greasy, but that could have been due to the abundance of pepperoni. The crust was thin-ish, and very crunchy. It wasn’t bad, but we didn’t like it as well as the Fortels it replaced. Also the prices seemed a little higher.
Will we come back? Maybe. The overall experience was not bad, but not outstanding either.

If you had been to Fortels at this same location it is the same owners, staff and interior. It has a good patio seating area in the breezeway, a private meeting or party room and plenty of seats and tvs.
The menu updated which is. A nice touch but kept the same flavor.
If you come here a lot for the $10 lunch specials make sure to get a stamp card.
They also run a ton of specials on Groupon and I see people use those constantly.
The house dressing is great on the salads and the pizza thin crust has never failed. I have had the sandwiches before the name change and haven’t had time to try the updates.
Also live music can be found during the summer on certain dates.

I thought long and hard before leaving this review as I work in customer service and I know how important these are. I work and live in Creve Coeur. I’m always down to try the newest place and we do frequent a lot of places nearby regularly. However, Nana Mamas will not be added to the rotation.
We ordered to go so I honestly can’t speak for the sit down restaurant. We ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and veggie ziti. Online ordering said our food would be ready in 25 min…it took almost an hour. Our order was over $35 for two people. We’re absolutely okay with this if it’s worth it. The food arrived home still steaming hot. BUT…It. Was. Terrible. It was the most flavorless Italian I’ve ever had. My pasta was supposedly a tomato sauce but it was that weird pinkish/orange color that was reminiscence of Chef Boyardee. Gross. The broccoli was crunchy and the breadsticks were awesome! But I ate a quarter of it and threw it away. My fiancé had the pizza. This man will eat anything, especially when it comes to pizza. He ate two pieces, after covering it in every sauce we had in the fridge, and still ended up throwing it away.
This was just a highly disappointing visit and it will not warrant a second chance. Can’t wait to see what they put in next!

The pizza is consistently tasty. The service was exceptional. My mother-in-law was overwhelmed by how nice the staff was. We will be returning here often.

Everything was okay. Disappointed that yet another Fortel’s Pizza Den is gone. If you’re looking for Fortel’s just drive a bit further to get it…this isn’t it.
