Going in search of a new restaurant in Jackson, Louisiana, I found myself winding around East Feliciana Parish, no traffic lights in sight.

This was my first time trying this place and I am super disappointed. I haven’t heard a lot about it, but the little I heard said the food was amazing. I definitely disagree. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and a kids fried fish. My food was fried in burnt grease. The only thing I could taste was burnt grease. The fries were soggy and not cooked all the way. I will add photos to show. I ordered my food to go and the service wasn’t the worst nor was it the best.

The White Chocolate Bread Pudding is delectable…absolutely outstanding in every way! I enjoyed the smash-burger with fries too…looking forward to another lunch there soon! Great, friendly and personable wait staff…

Overall, solid experience. Popped in for lunch, probably spent an hour and a half in the restaurant. Lots of space, cute decor, radio not too loud; but the service was slower than I would normally expect. Quick to be greeted and get drinks out, slow on everything else. They had a spinach and artichoke dip featured, other than a little salt and pepper it was pretty good. Food in general was pretty good, lots of variety in the menu, would probably come back.

Blake White catered my wedding on 11/11/23 and he was wonderful! He met me at the venue a few months before the wedding to map out the set-up and ensure we had everything we needed. He coordinated the outdoor tents, chairs, tables, linens, and even suggested the DJ! Now let’s talk about the food, IT WAS DELICIOUS! Everyone kept asking who we had cater because the food was so good. Blake was so easy to work with and managed the space so well to fit what we needed. He was a great communicator and took a lot of stress away from this bride! The bartender even fluffed my train on the isle! Absolutely wonderful and kind person. I 1000% recommend either eating at Iron Horse or using Blake as a caterer for your upcoming event. Wouldn’t have been the same without all that he did for us and I am forever grateful! Thank you Blake!

I recently had lunch here, my 1st visit because when it 1st opened, it was only open for supper. I ate at the bar so there was no wait. The food was very good, the price was reasonable, and the service was prompt. I have only 2 minor nits to pic.

First, the bar itself is rather poorly designed. The top doesn’t stick out far enough so you have very little leg room when sitting at it. This is exacerbated by the many brackets under the bar top, upon which you frequently hit your knees. So I would recommend a table or booth instead.

Second, the restaurant was basically out of hot sauce when I ate there. This is shocking in Louisiana and should never happen.

Good fried chicken sandwich and Gator bites. Nice sized portions. Gumbo a little off flavor but ingredients were good. Desserts looked good but was too full from sandwich and app.

Went for lunch with coworkers. Got there a little later than typical lunch, around 130. They close at 2 and I was a tad worried we wouldn’t be served or our food would be rushed. I shouldn’t have worried. It was all so good. The waitress was attentive and service was prompt. It’s very rare that every person at the table enjoys their food. Collectively our table ordered the chicken parm, roast beef poboy, wedge salad and onion soup. *chef’s kiss* SO GOOD. The onion soup was maybe the best I’ve had. Adequately salted, topped with cheese and small crostinis, just as it should be. The wedge salad was cold and crispy, topped with blue cheese that was not overpowering, tomatoes and bacon. Cute environment with a cool bar that was reminiscent of a cigar bar. I expect they will be very popular and I hope the attention to each dish remains. Consistently good food is hard to find in the area. I will be back.

Hopped in for a quick bite.
Crispy fried chicken tenders with fries. Unfortunately, the tenders were not crispy at all. And it did not taste like there was any seasoning on them.
Hope the cook is made aware of it. It would taste so much better when crispy, and with bit of seasoning.
The fries were ok
