I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Speckled Egg. The food is creative, fresh and delightfully balanced. The decor is bright and approachable. And the team could not be nicer. We hosted a holiday party there in December, and they exceeded all our expectations. Planning was a breeze and the night was an incredible experience we are all still talking about. To name a few highlights – chicken liver parfait, with tomato chutney, shallots and fried sage on toast. Kimchi deviled eggs. Smoked fish dip with cucumbers & pickles on those amazing hash browns (you know the ones). Slow roasted salmon with brown butter carrot puree, golden raison agrodolce and herb salad. Thank you for the perfect holiday celebration!

Everything was Egg-celent! First off Tony is super cool. The vibe in the place is on point, love the decor. I got the sausage egg and cheese. It had a nice sesame roll with cooper cheese oozing down on top of the custardy eggs and sausage.i also got a coffee which was perfect, a scone and some kind of chocolate chip cookie that was to die for. I included a pic so you could see the almost cartoon amount of cheese sliding down my sandwich. Gosh I’ll be dreaming of that sandwich

I went here for lunch with some friends and it did not disappoint. On a Saturday, they had a limited menu that consisted of mostly sandwiches. However, the did have White Cheddar Chicken Wings, which I got. They came with absolutely delicious house made ranch. The wings themselves were good but all flats.

My table also got the Gochujang Fries, which were likewise amazing with a creamy cheese dip. The standout, however, was the egg sandwich. If you are around this place for breakfast or lunch. Give them a try!

Well done speckled egg –

I got the lamb shawarma smash and the salt&vinegar fries – absolutely insane. Food had lots of flavor and I could tell it was fresh/real food.

Was it a little pricey? Maybe…but I feel good about the money I spent here. Could I have shared the fries with 3 other people…also maybe, but I am an animal and crushed them by myself.

Thanks for the hospitality Tony, total vibe – I’ll be back

This is the fish sandwich you’ve been seeking for all these years. Whether you go to the cape, Maine, Jersey Shore, Hamptons, wherever it’s is, this is the place and I was able to experience it, right here in Lambertville NJ.

The small black chalkboard was handwritten with the words ‘fish fry’ and that’s how this meal started.

This was a special meal at the newly opened Speckled Egg which has opened in this new location. They only served fried fish sandwiches on the day I visited and I assume they will move to a full menu soon. I’ve been hearing so much about the old location so excited to visit the newly opened location.

Such a great vibe, small marble tables can seat two, or carefully combined to seat more. our party was five people.

No menu. First up was a ‘Fizzy Drink’, Topo Chico with a fruit syrup. served in plastic cup with straw – yum.

Next up a bib salad, so fresh, with a creamy green dill dressing on the side served in a small plastic takeout cup. There were Dikon slices, pickled onions and maybe shaved radish too. It was so fresh, you could smell the fresh veggies waft up as it was served in a small brown kraft food tray.

The main event was just indescribable. Also served in a large craft tray, the fried fish was served on a regular hamburger bun, nothing fancy. The fish extended well beyond the bun on either side giving you several bites of fish without bun. I tasted so many flavors and maybe I’m making some of them up so don’t hold me to it. Crispy, salt, garlic, vinegar, all these flavors came out in every bite. A big heap of coleslaw was added beneath the top of the bin that provided some extra crunch. It was truly fabulous. Not to be out done, each sandwich came with one of those super mini bottles of Tobacco sauce.

To wrap it up, dessert was what I believe to be a wonderful, light, airy and not overly sweet banana pudding with some whipped cream and three hand-made wafers. It was served in a small ice cream cup. I could have eaten a bucket of this but didn’t want to embarrass myself so I kept to the one cup and tried not to make it obvious while licking the cup clean.

A wonderful start for the Speckled Egg, I look forward to the next menu and really hope I can get a seat next time I visit.

I can’t properly explain how the food is so delicious. When I read the menu it sounds nice. When I see the dish it looks nice. When I taste the food it’s out of this world. The way they combine flavors and textures it’s on a truly professional level.

Cannot say enough good things! I love taking visitors here – food is unmatched, lovingly prepared, and so creative. So happy they have a location of their own in the neighborhood. I love the small space but takeout is always a good option when busy!

Easily one of the all time best breakfast/lunch (and on Fridays, dinner) spots in all of New Jersey. I can’t believe I get to eat their sandwiches pretty much whenever I want just because I live in the River Towns?? In a world full of insanity, this delicious place brings me succor. Thank you, Meg & Tony! Wishing you all the success <3

The best food on the planet!! PERIOD. There’s some food you eat and then there’s the Speckled Egg Cafe which you experience. Each item is prepared to order. The taste of each bite is in a word MAGICAL!! I enjoy savoring each bite raather than rushing through my meal. The attention to detail (even the napkins are amazing), quality of ingredients, charisma & passion of the owners makes for the greatest dining experience! The Kimchi Egg Sandwich is my all time favorite. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
