We drove all the way from northern Ohio to have dinner at Millstone in Lexington, and I can honestly say every mile of the trip was worth it for this experience alone.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was stunning, beautifully designed, thoughtfully decorated. Every detail of the space was absolutely intentional and polished without losing that inviting charm.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. I had the mushroom agnolotti, which was perfectly seasoned, incredibly flavorful, and one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had anywhere. My husband ordered the prime rib sandwich, and it was just as impressive, tender, rich, and perfectly balanced. The deviled eggs appetizer deserves special recognition because they were quite possibly the best deviled eggs I have ever had.
What truly set the evening apart, though, was the staff. We sat in the bar area and had Conner as our server, who was attentive, friendly, and made the entire experience seamless. General Manager Kasey stopped by and was incredibly kind, clearly proud of her team and the experience they create for guests. We also had the opportunity to meet the chef and owner, whose passion for his restaurant and staff was inspiring and refreshing to see.
Exceptional food, a beautiful atmosphere, and a team that genuinely cares. Millstone delivered an unforgettable dining experience. We will absolutely be back.
Ps: Millstone has THE cleanest glasses in Lexington.

Genuinely, the best restaurant in Lexington. From the moment we walked in we were politely greeted and ushered to our table in the room to the left, which was tastefully decorated and had a great vibe and ambiance. We ordered Crab Cakes, Brussels’ Sprouts, and Rolls (BIG BACK) to start with and each was extraordinary. The Crab Cakes had a Red Pepper Coulis sauce (I think) and Fried Green Tomatoes that complimented the dish perfectly, and the Brussels’ Sprouts were hands down the best my Wife and I had ever had. The rolls were also great and had a whipped honey butter to go with them. For our entrées, I got a 10oz Ribeye and my Wife got the Filet. The steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the fries on the side for my ribeye were next level (they were cooked in tallow I think, which made all the difference). My wife’s sides of root vegetables were excellent as well. We ordered an extra side of Mac and Cheese to Share, which although not insane, was still leagues above most places in Lexington (in their defense, I feel like there’s an upper limit on how good Mac and Cheese can be; it’s pasta, cheese, and butter; it’s always awesome). Rounding it out we shared a slice of cheesecake for dessert, which was stellar. Services was great, food was great, atmosphere was great. All in all it will not disappoint and we will be going back again and again in the future.

Food was amazing. Delicious. Great service. Wonderful ambiance. Southern meets sophisticated. Not pictured was the shrimp and grits, phone forgot to eat first, oops! It was awesome. Favorite apps were the pimento cheese and crab cakes. Big fan of Millstone fries. Great spot before the game or a romantic night out. It was truly special. Will be back!

Millstone absolutely delivered on date night.

We wanted to try somewhere new in town, and Millstone did not disappoint. Getting a reservation was incredibly simple through their website/OpenTable, which is always a great first impression. When we arrived, the place was almost at max capacity, but the staff didn’t seem stressed, didn’t miss a beat, and the service was awesome from start to finish. Friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming.

The space itself is beautiful. Great vibes, warm atmosphere. Perfect for a night out.

Now let’s talk food.

Overall: 9.8/10. And the portions are generous (which I’m definitely not complaining about).

The deviled eggs? Hands down the best in town. No debate.
The brussels sprouts were pretty good — though I’ll admit they would make my top 5 list in Lex.
My wife had the buttermilk arugula salad and said it was amazing. She followed it with the crispy chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwich was very good — definitely dill-forward, so if you like dill, you’ll love it. And the fries? Big fan. Bravo.

I had the prime rib sandwich, and honestly, it was my least favorite item of the night. It felt a bit bland and lacked flavor. I wished it had more aioli, though I’m not sure that alone would’ve saved it. The au jus tasted more like warm, grease water than the rich dip I was hoping for.

That said, one sandwich wasn’t going to get in the way of what was otherwise an awesome dining experience. Everything else we had was great, the service was top-notch, and the overall vibe makes Millstone a place we’ll absolutely be back to try again.

Excited to have this spot in town.

Excellent ambiance and service.

Food left a lot to be desired. 3 of our 4 entrees lacked flavor and seasoning. Everything lacked salt. Food presentation was good.

Easily one of the best new restaurants Lexington has seen in many years. The space is inviting and beautiful, with bold accents and eclectic decor. I dined with a group of friends, and everyone raved about nearly every dish. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts appetizer (topped with house-made bacon, hot honey, blue cheese, and crispy onions) gives Bella Cafe a run for their money, and IYKYK – theirs are phenomenal! I didn’t get a picture of them, if that tells you anything; they were savored but devoured. The Warm Beet Salad (paired with goat cheese, balsamic vinegar, and roasted fennel) was simple and divine – each flavor shined. The Crab Cake Sliders were well-portioned and tasty. I chose to upgrade my side to the Dill Slaw, which was a refreshing complement to everything else I’d consumed. Favorites from around the table included the Braised Short Rib, Crispy Chicken (sandwich), Roasted Shallot Mashed Potatoes, and Pimento Corn Muffins (small but mighty). A couple people enjoyed Lychee Martinis while a couple of us were curious enough to try the “Truth or Dare” mocktail, a creative invitation to choose three words describing a flavor profile, from which the bartender will craft a custom drink! I chose “sweet, spicy, indulgent” and my drink was next level – truly. Better than a cocktail. I later quizzed the bartender (Will) and was told it contained (among other things) lime juice, Demerara syrup, and house-made spicy bitters. Our server Jo was engaging, friendly, thorough, and a lot of fun. I can’t say enough good things about Millstone!

This was from the February 2026 menu.

I can’t begin to stay enough nice things about Millstone. From the ambiance, the staff, the chef, and of course the food; going and experiencing what they have to offer ranks among the top places in Lexington. With no shortage of well crafted, elegant, and new restaurants out there in Lexington right now; Millstone excels at elevating the familiar to level that Lexington has been waiting patiently to see. Even a solo visit can feel extraordinary at Millstone. On my visit, Amy M was absolutely amazing, her attention to details and perspectives allowed me to fully enjoy the experience from beginning to end. Before getting to the food, I must admit that the space is truly special. To have such a welcoming and warm environment in a historic location with an addition that feels just as natural as the rest of the building is truly grand. This alone helps you feel so at ease in the space right from the beginning. With my meal, I enjoyed both their schoolhouse old fashioned with house-made bitters and their black manhattan. Both are expertly crafted with care and attention to detail. If bourbon is not your thing, there’s a plethora of other cocktails, wines, some beers, and even nonalcoholic options which is also a refreshing change that I welcome all restaurants to embrace. As for my meal, first off you will not be disappointed by any of the portions, everything that I had and saw coming out of the kitchen will leave no one who comes to Millstone hungry. Additionally, the menu is both simple and expansive. There’s an offering for just about any appetite. For my starter, I was actually stuck on what starter to get because all of the items sound so good!!! I ended up selecting the crab cakes with fried green tomatoes and let me tell you, they are absolutely delicious. The batter on the tomatoes was perfect, the crab delectable, and the remoulade was very well balanced and provided the right about of heat to the dish. For my main, I had the braised short rib. In full transparency this is one of the pricier entree’s but it is absolutely worth it! The short rib is done so well it melts in your mouth! The potatoes are creamy and expertly seasoned to pair so well with braising jus, the honey brussel sprouts, and root vegetables. This dish is a tender love letter that you want to keep reading and enjoying time and time again. Halfway through my meal Chef Tyler even came through the dining room to meet with patrons and talk to them!! As it was earlier in the evening, I was so appreciative to see him interacting with the patrons and when he stopped by it was so nice to speak with him and pay compliments to him, Amy, and everything they’re doing at Millstone. To end my visit, I enjoyed the brown butter mascarpone cheesecake. Brown butter is already such a wonderful treat, but to have it with a cheesecake was top notch!!! This was truly a wonderful visit and I can’t wait to go back and enjoy another offering from Millstone.

Went on a double date recently and got to try this place for the first time!

Vibes were great from the start, beautiful place, nice staff. The tall and short of our service through the night was kinda bad?? Maybe he was young and new to the service, but we were left for long stretches (long time at the end for the checks).

Main thing is the food right??
So hummus appetizers was great, first time I had a place give more hummus than the sides. Shrimp and grits were good (high compliment from a southern gal like me) and I liked the touch of having a bowl to the side for the tails. The biggest disappointment for the table was both guys got burgers and agreed they weren’t good. They do a flat patty situation, but these were left on the grill bc the cardboard texture was unfortunate. Maybe an off night? Want to go back for the drinks and apps with the girls to try more.

Oh and the Caesar salad also meh. Willing to try again but DANG for the price, prolly won’t rush back.

We were able to chat and laugh the night away wkth our friends and enjoyed trying a big selection of food. The waitress was so kind and tentative. The stars of the menu are the appetizers. The entrees, however, need some heart and soul put in to them, as they’re just too bland. We all added salt to our entrees with the exception of the salad. I’ll come again, for sure, just think I’ll choose a salad or sandwich next!

My 3rd visit to Millstone! The whole evening was outstanding! The warm pimento cheese, crab cakes, and the deviled egg appetizers were delicious! Our entrees ( crab cake sliders, shrimp and grits, avocado focaccia) were delectable! Add in the specialty cocktails, the yummy chocolate chip dessert, the beautiful ambiance, and the professional, energetic, and friendly service (our server, Roo, was the best!) My new favorite Lexington restaurant!
