As we headed back to Birmingham Alabama after an incredible weekend in Greenville, we discovered a true hidden gem just outside the city, where we indulged in a delicious breakfast and coffee. The food was so good , the coffee hot and Yummi . The service was exceptional, making us feel like part of the family. Our server Julie was warm, attentive and incredibly kind. The atmosphere was truly unique, with adorable barn-like buildings that added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this place for a meal & shopping their market.

Love the true country store feel. The buns for hamburgers were great fresh made not commercial buns. Alot of other cool local jams, jalapeños eggs and fresh produce

The food was good and the service was excellent. Came here yesterday and decided it was so good. I was coming again today. I got the biscuits with gravy and two eggs on top which is under $10 and filled me up completely. The shopping in this place is adorable. I picked up some organic carrots for the dogs and a jar of Jelly for myself. They have a wide assortment of honey as well.

Came on a rainy day and eating breakfast under a tin roof was great. Was a little confused on how to order food but my boyfriends showed me the ropes. The grits were great. It was super filling and at a great price.

The Barnwood Grill was a first time stop for hubby and I, but recommended by friends. My husband got an omelet and sausage. I ordered eggs and bacon. The seating is inside a barn/shed decorated building, very countryish. Food was good (delicious sausage!) Loved it! Our waitress was friendly and did her job well.

Update: We have been in the area numerous times, and had breakfast at The Barnwood Grill in Anderson, SC every time.
12/17/25-I had a Cathead Biscuit with egg, sausage, and cheese… delish!

There’s a small market with local produce and a case of desserts but the main draw seems to be the grill. There are several small locations to sit and eat – inside the store side, in the “cafe”, a covered area right outside, and “the coop”, like a tin shack.

The wait staff work hard and always seem a bit harried, but they are friendly and helpful. I just wish the food here were as good. I stopped in here first to get a burger and it was fine, but lacked any seasoning in the meat or flavor overall. I thought they might do lunch better and came back for the biscuits but wasn’t overly impressed with them either. (Though they are BIG!) I think I keep trying to like it, and there may be really good items on the menu, but I didn’t love either of the things I tried. It’s good, not great.

It looks a little rough at first, but it’s genuinely *so* good. It’s an institution in the (formerly) rural part of Anderson, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re staying in the area and want to have something different than corporate fast food! It’s also attached to a lovely produce shop.

Great sandwiches. Servers were friendly & place was very clean. Yummy sweet tea! Worth a stopover.

Update, went back this am for breakfast, not disappointed . I had the J Davis, a BLT w/2 fried eggs & my hubby had the Trash Bowl! Server was super sweet young gal. Love this place.

The lil grocery attached has a wonderful selection of meats, veggies, jellies & even a bit of pottery & jewelry!
