We had an excellent meal at Ahan Lao. We ordered the deep fried pork belly, yellow curry, pad see ew, papaya salad, and beef jerky, and every single dish was incredibly tasty and well-seasoned. The portions were very generous, and everything tasted fresh and made with care.

Parking was also very easy, with a free parking lot available, which is a big plus. This is truly a small business worth supporting, the owner is also the chef, and even though she speaks only a little English, she is the sweetest and most welcoming person. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic, comforting food and a warm, genuine experience.

The sticky mango rice was amazing, not extremely sweet and they give you a very generous amount for 10 dollars. Also the portions and taste of the drunken noodles were great I got medium spicy. The only nitpick I have is I would have liked a little bit more beef but I’ll probably ask for extra beef next time I go. The Thai tea was also noticeably somehow better than others I have tasted

I ordered from Ahan Lao & Thai Food and was disappointed overall. The combination Pad Thai was good and the spice level was perfect, but the Thai tea ruined the experience. I specifically asked for light ice and still received almost a full cup of it, and the tea itself tasted like spoiled dairy, so I couldn’t drink it. Not sure if it was made fresh with bad cream or if it was premade and stayed in the fridge too long. The food was decent, but the quality of the drink and lack of attention to detail made the meal underwhelming.

Small Thai Lao eatery. Nice people.

I enjoyed the food. I love Thai soup (hubby likes Tom Ka amd I prefer Tom Yum even though I love them both)

I also love Drunken Noodles with ample chili. Soooo good. We added the delicious crispy won ton with cream cheese and crab.

We were stuffed! So yummy.

Small mom and pop place with authentic Thai and Laotltian food. Had been there twice and the food is super tasty. Had the classic Pad Thai Noodles and they were very filling and delicious. It’s situated in a small plaza but there is always parking. Not a lot of seating place and the owner who tends to the place is a little gruff but the food is worth it.

The food was delicious, and I can confirm it’s authentic from a Laotian perspective. I’ve gotten beef jerky which was amazing. It came with some jeow bong which is a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. You must eat it with sticky rice. The Lao medium spiced papaya salad was good too and not too spicy. I enjoyed it alongside Royal Mandarin’s salt and pepper chicken wings, and the meal was fantastic. Phet was super awesome and so hospitable. Thanks for some of the nam wan too, it was so yummy. I bet almost everything in here is delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed it as well and he’s picky (:

In my opinion, the food is extremely delicious. This is the main reason I come back, parking in the area is a hassle, and the staffs customer service is lacking. They are a little bit curt and there’s a language barrier . Sometimes it’s sus there, today I felt a little pressured to tip as he watched me expectantly during the tip option. However, the food is excellent and the vegetables are always fresh and flavor is on point. They have a lot of special menu items that are unusual and seem interesting to try. I think it’s worth a stop for takeout .
The inside smells like frying oil.

Place is a hidden gem!!
It’s clean, staff super friendly and great prices.

Panang curry with beef
Drunken noodles
And the best presentation of sticky rice mango, ever.

Portions are large and very well seasoned.
Have definitely made a regular out of me and my little family

I would certainly say this is one of the best Lao-Thai food restaurant around here in South Bay. This hole on the wall and family owned restaurant
boast an authentic and tasty food menu that would rival the best Laotian and Thai foods. We would definitely come back here again and we’ll recommend this to our friends and family.

Ahan Lao is a fantastic restaurant. I have been twice in about six weeks because the food is delicious and well priced. My family’s favorites are the Thai papaya salad, the Lao beef jerky (which you have to try!) and the Nam Khao. The service is quick and friendly when dining in and ordering take out during the afternoon. Please give this place a try! You won’t regret it 🙂
