The guy just had a really bad attitude. Went in with my dad on Christmas Eve and there was a lot of things wrong with the place, really old outdated menu the bad attitude, the guy even threw down one of his foil containers. He seemed pretty tired of dealing with customers. I probably would’ve eaten there. If my dad weren’t there with me, just didn’t want to tolerate the disrespect. I just feel bad for the guy, hopefully he can get a better attitude. had to leave the place without ordering…

Don’t listen to the bad reviews they just don’t understand this place. It’s a 100/10 local gem. I moved to the valley in 2017 and was totally broke. Pre covid this was a sit down place but still cash only 1 man shop. And when i say 1 man, i mean one guy. He’s got articles up in the wall dating back decades written about his shop. Hes a NoHo institution and this is going the be the freshest Chinese food you ever had. And the prices?! Last I checked a lunch special was <20 and this is a standard Togo box PACKED. Sure does he sometimes tell you he’s changing your order, yeah. Are sometimes the hours adjusted randomly, yeah. But that’s going to be based off what he’s got left. He’s taking your order, cooking it fresh, and chatting with you. Trust me. Just eat what he gives you. If you’re looking to be attended to, and have a nice long sit down dinner with ambience, this place ain’t for you. If you want to meet the man himself, have fresh affordable delicious Chinese, be called “young man” even tho you’ve been a patron for almost a decade, this is your spot. Be sure to tip the guy and respect your elders. I guess it’s take out only now, but cmon, the guys business made it through Covid and is still showing up.

The owner, Quang, is extremely friendly 10/10! I’ve never waited long for an order and they’re extremely humble. Last night I called at closing time and they took my order without any issues- I didn’t even realize their hours till I saw them on the door after i picked up. Definitely a bit embarrassing on my part, but he didn’t bat an eye. Great food, 10/10

Solid place for cheap American Chinese takeout. Went in person to pick up. Looks like more of a takeout place but they have some seating. I do recommend calling ahead of time because there was only one worker and my order took 30ish minutes.
Nevertheless he was really nice and I got two entrees, chow mein, chicken fried rice, and the fried chicken wings. He threw in a free order of rice. All of that was $45 which is crazy good nowadays.
Orange chicken was solid, not heavy on the breading like some places and the sauce was well balanced with an ample orange flavor. The Mongolian beef was really good. Very tender.
All around solid place if you’re craving cheap Chinese takeout.

Crazy and rude man who can’t stop yelling to listen to my order. It’s rare to find someone so unpleasant to interact with, it makes me refuse to go. I’ll go elsewhere and save myself from listening to him rant or make random racist comments.
The place is unsanitary and you risk food poisoning. He gave me hot sauce that sits outside in a non-AC room and has obviously gone bad. So I wouldn’t trust how he handles his ingredients.
Also, he refuses to update his menu, so the prices are wrong, half the items are unavailable, and there is no delivery. You will get yelled at if you somehow didn’t know all of this magically.

Food and prices are great, but one dude running a whole restaurant really doesn’t go well. He’s does a million things; there isn’t even any free water. Best to get it to go.

2018.01-02: we love this spot. To know Quong is to love Quong. The best FRESH Chinese food there is in the valley. WE DON’T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. He doesn’t have food “sitting in the window” for hours which makes your tummy uneasy after you leave. Quong makes every order fresh with locally sourced resources everyday. Whatever he purchases at the market in the morning is what you get. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. So if you don’t have Chicken and Green Beans that day, you may have Chicken and Broccoli. We love this man. Eat it fresh and hot. The Crispy Chicken Wings are to die for. A flavor we can’t recreate at home. Every entree is simple and quickly made with perfection. If you don’t have time to spare for hot, delicious food, don’t bother staying and go elsewhere. We’ve never fallen ill from anything we’ve eaten from here. He is a one man operation so have patience if you want hot, excellent food. If not, do us a favor and leave – he doesn’t need your business. If you can deal with the “Soup Nazi” man from Seinfeld, you’ll be fine. Like we said, to know Quong is to love Quong. An excellent, honest, hard-working man who can cook his ars off. Definitely a must try if you haven’t already! We are regulars so you know we’ll be back. Take advantage of the $4.99 lunch specials when you can! Totally FIRE.

Amazing Chinese food. $11 for the Mongolian beef with a side of rice while my buddy bought the orange chicken. Food was prepared fresh. Owner was hanging out in front, buddy and I walked in and owner jumped up, greeted us, and was very friendly. He cracked multiple jokes which we found highly entertaining .
This is a cash only spot, from personal experience here in LA, these are the best types of shop. Focusing only on the food. Swing by if you want quality, tasty, and affordable food.

This is the healthiest and freshest tasting Chinese I’ve had in the area. It’s worth every penny and more. Some tips for a good experience:
1.Understand and accept that the menu is out of date online and limited. He doesn’t cook pork anymore. He’s eliminated items from the menu that don’t get ordered enough, which I’m sure helps his overhead. For the some of the same reasons.. I also suggest 2. ordering in person…Do not call to order. I can understand why he could be short on the phone. This is a one man show restaurant and he’s cooking, taking payments, everything all at once it seems. 3. Be prepared to pay cash. 4. It’s all cooked to order and I usually wait ~25 minutes or less while he cooks. 5.No dining in, only takeout.
So far I’ve ordered shrimp lo mein, sesame chicken, mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice, and Kung pao chicken, all were incredible. Any three of those selections + white rice were $27 total and it’s a lot of food.
