The food was overall really good — the broth was flavorful, the vegetables were cooked well, and the seafood tasted fresh. However, I did want to mention one safety concern. My dish had multiple mussels that were still completely closed after cooking. Closed mussels should not be eaten because they can be unsafe and may indicate the shellfish was dead before cooking.
Everything else in the meal was great, but I recommend the kitchen double-check the mussels before serving to make sure all the closed ones are removed. Just a small detail that can help keep customers safe.

I got the The Union special, comes with a pupusa, fried plantain, yuca, and a chicken tamal. The food is definitely authentic. The pupusas are a hit! Not to greasy or dry, they are just right, as well as the tamale. To drink I had a Horchata. It was good .
Overall I recommend this place if you really want some authentic Salvadoreño food.

The pupusas are very authentic and delicious. The wait staff is good. Primary language is Spanish, but they are quite able to take orders in English.
We’ve been there multiple times and haven’t had a bad meal or unpleasant experience.
I would give the seven stars but five is the most they let me give.

The pupusas here are amazing, they taste very authentic! The workers are nice but it is pretty slow. I ordered 2 cheese pupusas and after a while they brought me 2 pork ones, I had to send them back and it took a very long time to get my order. My family was done eating and I hadn’t gotten my order yet, but once I got them they were delicious! My family also got beef fajita tacos and they were very good! The horchata is Salvadorian and it tasted amazing! Overall this place is good just come with time!

I had to have a pupusa today and the Pupuseria La Unión did not disappoint! Hot, fresh, melty cheese with shredded pork and a perfectly grilled shell – very tasty! I asked our server how big the pupusas were and she made a small circle shape with her hands, so I ordered 3. When the plate arrived, it was obvious that I’ll be having leftover pupusas tomorrow for lunch, darn it.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Never had Salvadoran cuisine so it was fun to try something new. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had pupusas which were very good and the seafood soup which was excellent!
