Solid Spot for Sports, Sips, and Salmon
If you’re looking for a lively bar with plenty of TVs to catch the game and a friendly, attractive waitstaff, Johnny Black’s Whiskey Park delivers. The atmosphere is energetic without being overwhelming—perfect for unwinding with good company and good food.
I went with my usual go-to: the salmon. It was well-prepared and flavorful, paired with a substitution of broccoli instead of rice to keep things low-carb. The kitchen was happy to accommodate the swap, which I appreciated. While the portion was a bit smaller than I’d prefer, it was still satisfying and plated nicely.
Overall, Johnny Black’s hits the mark for a casual night out—especially if you’re into sports, solid drinks, and a menu that caters to both indulgent and mindful choices.

Located in the small downtown of Auburn Hills, this restaurant delivers a great local vibe. They offer a solid selection of quality whiskey and fun karaoke on Wednesday nights. Of course, I had to try the calamari appetizer—and it didn’t disappoint! The place has the feel of a laid-back sports bar where you can relax and enjoy the true Michigan atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Had the steak tip dinner and french fries, it was very good, the zip sauce was devine. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious, my son had the Parmesan chicken, he has ordered it before as it is a large portion and delicious. He also had the Parmesan garlic French fries and he said 10 out of 10!!
Met the manager Greg, he really seems to enjoy his job and has direction for this location.

One of my new favorite sports bars near my parent’s house! 5/5, I wish this was here when I went to OU!It’s so cute and cozy inside and perfect for watching the game. Also the birria tacos were some of the best birria tacos I’ve literally ever had? I was not expecting them to be so good! We were cracking up at how huge my dad’s burrito Suzio was, like that can feed at least 3 people?! Everyone was really happy with their meals. We went on a Sunday at 3pm over the holidays and it was kind of slow, but the staff was extremely nice and attentive. Food prices were reasonable (we just missed happy hour that ends at 3pm on Sundays tho), definitely will be back! Cute little outdoor strip to walk around too, I hope to see them build this downtown area up even more!

Being in the service industry the bartenders here tonight January 17th 2026 were absolutely non existent being a female customer. Men were for sure served first before me waiting for a while. I had other first grab bartenders attention so I could get an order and also cash out. There was no check backs NOTHING!!! This definitely sold me on not coming back

Went on a busy Friday night. Sat at the bar bartenders were super friendly and gave great suggestions on food choices. Calamari was outstanding and so was the Birria taco platter.

Great atmosphere, staff was friendly and accommodating. Loved the food and was very happy with everything. The steak, Brussel sprouts app and thr chicken wrap with the sprouts all very good. My family was also happy with their choices. Will for sure come back if we are in the area.

Sometimes when you have a chain you expect the same service and food preparation from each and that is not the case here. The food on two separate occasions now has been prepared incorrectly and over cooked! That was my last attempt! Just like the Johnny Black Lake House! Dirty

Went there for the Prime Rib Saturday special. We were seated around 5:45pm, where we then waited 5-10 minutes before one of the employees asked if we had been helped, which we had not. No big deal, place wasn’t busy but wasn’t empty either. Once our server came, I mentioned I was interested in the Prime Rib. She said she would have to check if it’s available, since they don’t start serving it until 6pm. It was 5:57pm. Even so, there is a sign outside of the restaurant explicitly saying Prime Rib Saturdays ‘5pm til out’…..I did not debate this with the server, who was either having a bad day, nervous, or shy. All-in-all, not planning on going back any time soon. I ordered fried buffalo cauliflower which was delicious. The prime rib was generously portioned, and tasted ok. I was also not asked, or had it mentioned if I prefer, my meat to be prepared a certain way. I had to ask the server if I was able to have the meat prepared to my liking.
