4.3 stars. I’ve worked down the street from Jen’s Place Bakery & Cafe (JPBC) for nearly 3 years but somehow never managed to check it out. After a fortuitous conversation with co-workers yesterday about Chicken & Dumplings, they raved about the Thursday special and how it was imperative for me to try it out here. I stopped in around 2 pm for a late lunch and ordered the special. A warm bowl of Chicken & Dumplings, side of green beans, side salad and a house roll was about $16. Quality of food was nice. Employees were upbeat, friendly, and working beautifully as a team. Clean restaurant with lots of funny, inspiring, varied quotes and famous sayings on the walls. The sweets here looked amazing so definitely will be back to try their other offerings.

I order from Jen’s frequently, they are one of my “go to’s” for ordering lunch at the office when I didn’t bring anything. I’ve never been disappointed. Today was no exception, I have a bit of a cold, so I was getting some of their Chicken Noodle soup (Yum btw), when I noticed a sandwich on their menu, a greek chicken breast sandwich. I ordered a half just because it sounded interesting. WOW, SOOOO freaking good, the chicken was perfect, so moist and perfectly cooked, the greek seasoning/flavor side of things was very subtle, and I liked that, it didn’t overpower the natural flavors of the lettuce, onion, tomato or the star of the show the chicken. It was just a perfect symphony of flavors! I will be getting that again! It was good enough I will likely call them and let them know, and I wanted them to have a review for it, Fantastic! I ate it too fast for a proper photo 🙁

Today was our first time to Jen’s Place and we LOVED it!! We happened upon it on our way to the Diamond Factory and it was the perfect lunch spot! We both got quiche, a side Cesar salad and tea. Their black current tea was so fresh and tasted amazing!! Dessert was very tempting with lots of choices, but we were good (today)! I sure do wish there was a Jen’s Place near me v. a 30 minute drive!!!

This place feels like a warm hug. Every single employee we’ve encountered is genuine and kind. I’ve seen the same faces working here for years–that’s saying something in the restaurant industry. Situated close to my kiddo’s school, we come in for breakfast or lunch once or twice a month– every chance the school schedule allows. Jo knows us by name, even when it’s been several weeks between visits—such a nice welcoming touch. She’s a pro. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and it’s a great value. When we no longer live here, Jen’s Place will be one of the few places we truly miss about Dallas. It’s an absolute gem.

Food was great and staff was super helpful and friendly. Quiche was so good. Recommend the soups, salads for lite lunch. The lunch specials change each day, so there is always good deal each day. Would have taken a photo of the Oreo cookie cake and German chocolate cake, but they were gone way too fast.

My first time here at the suggestion of a friend. The sandwiches and salad varieties are impressive for such a small and tidy restaurant.
And if you don’t get chips etc with your food in the first line they give you credit so you can go to the dessert section. That’s an awesome selling point.
You can actually hear yourself talking to the person you’re with so it’s not even overly loud.
Go and enjoy some great food.

I haven’t been here for a few years but am happy that their chicken and dumplings are as delicious as I remember! I ate the entire bowl. Their daily special also came with a side of green beans or black eye peas, a side salad and a roll. I think I rolled out of there. My friend finished her salad sampler too!

Everything was great and ready !! I got the daily special and I can’t complain about anything, because everything was great and I left full !! I had to go back and grad one of those temping strawberry cupcakes . Awesome dessert. I left a happy person. I’ll have to sneak back over and get another midnight snack, lol

Our first time here. I can not believe I haven’t tried this place until now. So good!! Cafeteria style, but don’t let that fool you. Everything we got was amazing. Absolutely delicious pastries and quiche! Servers were so friendly and helpful. Nothing cozy about seating area, but very clean. Will most definitely be back! Thank you.
