I went to Tanforan as of today, the guy serving the chicken from 5 to 5:15pm. is the rudest person in the world I ever met. This was my child hood. his actions already shows it all. I just asked if this was already double portion because I go all the time and I know what a regular order is and a double portion is because I’m a big back.so I just double checked with them just to see what he was going to say, and he started talking smack in his language, thinking I did not understand I hope they can make a change because people really enjoy this place, but they will stop going because of the customer service that they give. If I can recall in his language he had said “is she that big”

We love the Teriyaki Chicken with extra chicken and sauce. Our favorite, always good. Always our go to.

I heard the one in San Francisco Centre was closing, and remembered this one was still open. Since they opened there in 2014, they’d often have someone giving out samples of the signature chicken, but I never was there during a meal time to order. As Tanforan is shutting down for redevelopment, Finally I did patronize Sarku after years of procrastination. So it was great, I ordered the best selling chicken teriaki combo with rice and brocolli. The teriaki flavor was really subtle, in that it was not very strong, but enough to notice. The brocolli had kind of a janky safeway brocolli bag taste, but it was okay because the rice was tasty and overall the whole thing was good and fulfilling. I would give the food 4.5 stars. I had some leftover chicken bits and might put some sauce on it. According to Tanforan management, the whole food court is shutting down. More than half of the food court stalls (including upstairs) are empty. The employee said they were not moving to Serramonte like the yogurt shop. I noticed as I ate there were like 10 doordash orders picked up. Pretty impressive. The free sample program probably got them a lot of customers over the year. I hope to try Sarku again at their other locations and that they will consider opening a new location in San Francisco north peninsula. I wish the employees there well.

I think it’s great. I really like the chicken and shrimp with rice. I’ve had the beef and that was very good too. Very well priced considering everything is expensive these days. I just hate the parking situation. You have to park far and walk over because they are in the mall

Update. “Welcome back,” was how I was greeted before ordering the $7.99 Tuesday special, Teriyaki chicken with steamed rice and salad along with ‘double meat.’ Which made it a little over $10.00. Though I haven’t been to Sarku Japan in approximately 2 years, I decided to give them another chance. Besides, I’m not 100% sure that, a meal from them gave me some stomach issues. That said, this visit was impressive. It was simply delicious. Check ’em out the next time you’re in San Bruno.

Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food for the affordable price! Ordered the shrimp bento with an additional topping of teritaki chicken. The meal was. So tasty, I didn’t need to add any additional condiments to elevate the flavor.
Indeed, the teriyaki chicken was very well prepared. Shrimps were tiny but very tasty. And the accompanying dragon roll and fried gyoza was worth every bite!

Decent price for a filling meal! It’s a quick fix of proteins and carbs on a grill. When your looking for something different to grub on in the mall grab the teriyaki chicken and rice/noodles and add hot sauce.

We ordered here last week (July 8, around 4 in the afternoon). The guy cooking the food yelled at me several times to pick up the food we ordered with both hands. There were several people around also waiting for their food. The guy cooking beside him snickered, and they started talking in Chinese with the cashier. It’s very rude and disrespectful. Not to mention you are purposely embarrassing someone in public. This crew obviously doesn’t care how they treat their customers. Maybe for them since they are serving fast food it doesn’t matter. And I understand I have to pick up the hot food with both hands! I was trying to balance and fix the bags that I was already holding! I yelled back to him that I heard what he said and he needed to relax. The bento box that we also ordered was not even good. The sushi rice was so wet and mushy. There are other places where you can order in that food court. If you want your business to continue doing good treat your customers well.
You need to put this rude cook in a kitchen that’s not out in public if he’s so miserable at what he does.

I usually get the chicken teriyaki bento with rice, this time I switched up to the noodles and it was the best choice ever. The noodles are packed with flavor by all means, and the chicken is tender and marinated well. I always get filled up with the deliciousness
