I like they gave sweet while waiting. I ordered a beef kebap bowl, but it was tooo way small, barely was a portion for its price. I ate all of in minutes and still feeling hungry. Also beef was half portion, and not kind of burnt and untasty

When this place first opened, the food was amazing—fresh and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. I just had the beef shawarma, and it was cold, super dry, and not tasty at all. For $15, it was no pleasure at all.

It was first time in here today. Ordering and paying is confusing. If I say chicken shawarma, the chaser has no idea what I want as they have like 3 dishes with that name. I asked for chicken shawarma a la carte, which would mean a wrap anywhere else in the United States besides this restaurant. What I got was a container of chicken. Another guest also complained of a messed up order due to this naming convention on the menu. They don’t know what people are trying to order. Secondly, I waited 15 minutes outside with my dog for what I thought would be a quick one item order. After the first 15 minutes I had to leave my dog outside alone and wait inside because I suspected something went wrong. I waited for another 15 minutes staring at my order ready to go with my ticket on it, holding my buzzer, ready to say something if anyone had approached me and asked what my number was. My buzzer never went off the whole time, and no one asked why I was standing there, they just made other orders. After a 30 minute wait, I watched the other guest receive their messed order, and the employee throws the ticket on my food in the trash and offers it to the guest. At that point, I say it’s mine and she hands it over with no other words exchanged. I was ready to forget about the wait until I opened a box of plain chicken. Why would I want a box of plain, now cold, chicken? The menu is not clear, and the employees don’t have the capacity to bridge misunderstandings at time of order. I will not be coming back here.

First off, the place is very clean. Secondly, The staff is straightforward and tend to customers respectfully. Thirdly, THE FOOD! Perfection. Mouth watering. I had the Greek Gyro. It was like i was back in Greece. Honestly, this market is THE best place so far in America for Mediterranean food…. So far.

So nice, so clean, and so delicious! They were amazingly friendly and the food was tasty. Freshly back to SD after a few months and places like this is why I love it here!

We tried this place for the first time and got two of the beef Shawarma platters. The food was cold and could have used a little more seasoning. The portion was a decent size, but I think it could’ve been better for the price. Their pita chips were very good. The real downfall of this visit was the service. Several of the employees ignored me while I waited to order at the cash register for over 5 minutes. We definitely won’t be back

I love discovering hidden gems in the neighborhood, and Sahara Taste of the Middle East is a standout. Tucked inside the Heights Market, this counter-service Mediterranean spot exceeded my expectations. The flavors were spot on, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the market itself is modern and spotless. Highly recommend!

Parking is non existent . They don’t have a bathroom for customers . What they do have is a friendly and fast staff making delicious middle eastern food . The chicken and cheese flatbread was mediocre but the gyro and salmon kabobs just delightful
