I had such an amazing meal and incredible service that I haven’t stopped talking about it. Our server, Sara, was amazing and so helpful. We had a 5 wine flight and she chose the wines for us… which were all amazing. We actually ordered two bottles to take home. The food was spectacular and the chef is one of the few in town who truly understands how to perfectly cook shrimp, not overcooked and rubbery, but perfectly tender and snappy. Absolutely mouth watering. Thank you so much for a fabulous afternoon.

If you’re looking for the perfect spot to relax near the Plymouth waterfront, this wine bar is an absolute gem. Open year-round, it offers an experience that feels special no matter the season.

The wine flights are a highlight, giving you the chance to explore a variety of beautifully curated selections. Whether you’re a casual wine drinker or a true enthusiast, the staff makes it easy and fun to discover new favorites.

The food is just as impressive as the wine. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared, with flavors that pair perfectly with the wine menu. It’s the kind of place where you come for a drink and end up staying for a full meal because everything sounds too good to pass up.

The ambiance really sets this place apart. Warm lighting, a welcoming atmosphere, and the energy of the nearby waterfront create the perfect setting for a date night, a night out with friends, or even a relaxing solo visit. When there’s live music, the vibe becomes even better—adding just the right touch without overpowering conversation.

Between the amazing food, fantastic wine flights, cozy atmosphere, and live music, this wine bar has become one of the best spots in Plymouth to unwind. Whether you’re stopping in after a day by the water or planning a night out, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

Very last minute girls night out for a friend’s birthday and chanced it with no reservation. We lucked out and were able to snag a table after a round of drinks while standing near the bar. Definitely recommend making a reservation! Inside is cozy and well decorated. Drink menu is so well done. Mocktails options were the best I’ve seen/tasted! Live music, great ambience BUT the best part…toss up between the nicest waitstaff and the food! Both hit it out of the park!!! Food wise, it’s meant for sharing and enjoying and chatting. Great portions but the flavor profiles…words don’t do it justice. Our waitress was fantastic!! Attentive, sweet, great recommendations and just wonderful! We’re already plotting out next trip back!

Darcy was an incredible bar tender for us, so accommodating and gave us an ear to ear smile the whole time. The food was prepared wonderfully, the local wine, and the atmosphere was a perfect vibe for my fiancé and myself.
P.S. the sushi is SO GOOD!! ☺️

Been to 1620 Wine Bar a few times and it’s never let us down. The wines are really well done, the atmosphere is very relaxing, great for a special date night, and the food is absolutely amazing. The owners are fantastically friendly as well, as we had the opportunity to join them for their valentine’s day event last year in their event space! Their passion for the business has brought a great spot to the waterfront area for years along with a large event space in Cordage Park. Can’t wait to visit the wine bar again soon!

Stopped into Sip 1620 with some friends and had an excellent time. The vibe was welcoming, and the drinks (Allagash Whites for me) were perfect. What really stood out, though, was the service.

Our waitress, Sarah, was outstanding — very easy to communicate with, attentive without ever feeling overbearing, and genuinely made the evening more enjoyable. She kept everything running smoothly, and when she surprised the table with a bottle of wine for a birthday, it felt like such a thoughtful touch — the perfect cherry on top of an already great experience.

Overall, fantastic service, great drinks, and a spot I’ll absolutely be coming back to.

We had a great time celebrating a birthday here! We sat in the room with the bar. There is a fireplace, which was warm and cozy. There was live music on the weekend evening we went. The food was pretty good. We got salad and a few other apps, including two different cheese and charcuterie boards. They were both the same for accompaniments, so we wound up with a ton of crackers and grapes. The pour on the wine tasting (presented as a tower, pic included) was generous. I wish they would allow you to order any wines as a taste, but they only offer this for the house wines. I would return!
