If I could give half stars, I’d give it a 3.5. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the garlic lovers tofu and a Thai iced tea. The food came out quickly. Everything was not bad but just okay. The heart-shaped rice is cute. The garlic lovers tofu was garlicky enough but the garlic and chili flakes were the only strong flavours in the gravy-like sauce. The cabbage and onions seemed very fresh though. I thought the “hot” was more like what I’d consider a medium spice level, and I might try the “Thai hot” next time. To be fair, I got the garlic lovers dish because I wanted to try something different, but it’s not the usual kind of thing I get at Thai restaurants, so it’s possible I would have been more impressed if I’d just ordered something different.

Went to My Thai Downtown with my girlfriend for dinner and it was excellent! The food was freshly prepared with high quality ingredients and nicely seasoned – it was delicious. Service was outstanding. We really enjoyed our meal and will be back soon. Thanks to the great staff operating the restaurant.

As a new freshman at IUB, I was overwhelmed by all the food options near campus. After a 20-minute walk from my dorm to down a street packed with restaurants serving Chinese, Indian, Burmese, and more, I chose My Thai Downtown for my first meal out and I’m glad I did. Even with other guests already there, the wait time was super short, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive.
I ordered fried rice with beef and a small tom yum soup with shrimp, and my boyfriend got crispy chicken with ginger and jasmine rice. The food was so good I could cry, and the huge water cups were a surprisingly nice touch. We sat on the deck with a nice breeze, and the total was $43.17 (plus cash tip). Overall, this was a perfect first dining experience in Bloomington and I would recommend this place to anyone here. 🙂

First time ordering. Online ordering very easy, notification sent via text when ready for pick-up. Food hot & fresh. Red curry with beef ordered 3 and yellow curry with chicken ordered 2. Pad Thai noodles with chicken and pepper steak ordered 0. Won ton soup 0. Pad Thai came up a 1 & rest as 0. Little disappointed that there wasn’t more spice. Portions good and surprise that wonton soup had chicken added. Cost was almost $100 with tax & tip.

Great gluten free options. Staff is knowledgeable about allergies and was happy to accommodate. Curries are gf, fried rice (and other options) can be made gluten free upon request.

I love eating at My Thai Downtown! The food is great. I personally love the pad thai, pad kee mow, and Thai iced tea. The service is always fast and efficient; perfect for carry out and lunch.
The restaurant has lots of outdoor patio seating for guests to enjoy during the warmer months.

If you’re a fan of Thai cuisine, then My Tai Downtown is the place to go on IU campus. The food is absolutely delicious, and they are more than willing to accommodate any changes or requests you may have for your dish. Nye, person who waited our table, was incredibly patient and made sure our food was prepared exactly the way we wanted it. Not only was the food satisfying, but it also had an amazing taste. I highly recommend giving My Tai Downtown a try if you’re in the mood for some tasty Thai food.

I have to save the set up in this establishment is elegant. I am very impressed with the staff. The drunken man was to die for. I’m not a fan of soup but the soup that came with this meal was delicious. Don’t even get me started on the Sweet Sticky Rice with mango OMG so good!!! The one-star review that Daniel left is absurd. Just because the food wasn’t that good one time that you come in. Does not warrant four stars to being taken away. If everything else about the place was good you don’t take all the stars away. That’s how you write a review. Thank you!

Went to My Thai for my first time and had a Thai lager, steamed dumplings and the Duck Prad Krow spice level 2. All was very delicious but I must say it was much hotter than my girlfriends dish also ordered at spice level 2 ️. All things aside there service was wonderful and the server was attentive, duck was cooked to perfection and the dish was utterly delicious. Overall a splendid experience with a wonderful outdoor patio ambiance.
