Osprey Fish Co. was an awesome lunch stop during our recent trip to Whidbey island. Service was excellent from beginning to end and the vibes inside were high energy. The space is well decorated with plenty of seating and tons of parking nearby as well. The menu isn’t massive, but had plenty of enticing options for us. The drinks we tried (beer and frozen cocktail) were delicious and served quickly. We decided to split a couple appetizers and had an excellent meal – the oysters were delicious, fried shrimp/fries super tasty, and everything else we tried was very fresh. Overall I thought prices were a bit high, but if judged against Seattle then they’re nothing notable. 100% would come back!

We’re local and were looking for a place for dinner – busy all day and didn’t want to cook. We remembered this new eatery and decided to try it. Come in, Order-Pay-Get Your Number, Find a Seat and the Food is Delivered. It was Fast, Affordable and the Casual Atmosphere was Just Right! The Food was Fresh and Hot. My Shrimp was Lightly Dusted with Coating, Shoe String Fries perfect. Hubby was well pleased with his Oyster Po’boy. Really liked the low 70-90’s music (no head banging stuff), so it was easy to have a conversation. We plan on making this a Regular Stop.

There’s no pictures on the menu so I was torn between the ceviche, ahi poke tostada, and the lobster mac and cheese. I ordered the ahi poke tostada and I loved how fresh it was, seriously the flavor is there! However, the presentation was WAY TOO crowded, and contained too much guacamole that didn’t even meet the mark of Chipotle’s house guac. I just imagined a tostada would be a subtle stand-alone dish… looked like nachos to me at first.

It’s so hard to find gluten free fish and chips but this place not only has tons of gluten free options (with a dedicated fryer!!) but it is hands down the best GF fish and chips I’ve ever had. The crunch on the batter of the fish is insane, it’s flakey, golden and buttery. The fish is amazing, and the vinegar seasoning on the fries is perfection. 10/10 absolutely amazing

I ordered the Crab Mac & Cheese and Ceviche (so fresh) which were both delicious! The Pina Colada was great too. Plenty of parking and just across the street from Coupeville waterfront / shopping. Highly recommend both tourists and locals check it out.

Fish and chips was delicious. Loved it. Atmosphere was great and staff was very friendly. We got te french onion soup it was very tasty. Maybe a bit pricey for how much bread was with it and the amount of cheese and onions. But still delicious.

This is an order at the counter and wait for your food just be of place. Overall, not bad food. I am not giving 5 stars because it could be better. The fish was decent and the fries crispy. Everything was a little saltier than I prefer! The ketchup had a real funky taste and I think it’s time to change it out!

This is one of the popular restaurants in Coupeville. We got the fish & chips and crab mac n’ cheese. The fish & chips were very good! It’s not greasy and the shoestring fries made it better! The crab was tasty and the mac n’ cheese was very rich! I think it would be better if it was served with some bread to scoop up the rich sauce. Overall, it was a pleasant meal in a great day in Coupeville.

Osprey Fish Co.: Where Flavor Flies, but Value Circles the Runway
Tempura shrimp? Delicious. Shoestring fries? Crispy and addictive. Gluten-free friendliness? Practically heroic. Osprey Fish Co. has the culinary talent and the patio seating to reel you in. But before your wallet joins the party, let’s talk investment strategy.
First off: four shrimp in the shrimp basket. Just four. It’s the kind of portion that makes you squint and whisper, “Is this a garnish?” Sure, the fries padded things out, but they weren’t the star of the show. At these prices, I half expected them to throw in a commemorative souvenir bowl. And those beverages? $5 for a bottled root beer or Coke, $7 for a canned cider? Unless the cans were forged from moonrock, that’s a bit bold.
The French onion soup had flavor, but skimped on cheese like it was rationed during a lactose embargo. And as for the chili aioli, great kick, lovely taste, but it had that slightly tragic fridge-skin floating on top, like it had been rehearsing its solo in the walk-in all afternoon.
Service timing? One dish came out promptly, the other took a ten-minute detour through the Bermuda Triangle. It’s the kind of wait that makes you question whether your meal got cold or joined the witness protection program.
In short: tasty food, charming spot, but you’re paying premium prices for portion sizes and service that occasionally fumble the ball. Osprey’s soaring, just wish it brought more shrimp along for the flight.
