I had such a pleasant Valentine’s Day dinner date here! The food was incredible. The waiter helped my date and I pick out the perfect dishes. He also helped us pick the perfect cocktails based on our favorite drinks. The atmosphere was wonderful with the live music. I can’t wait to go back! 10/10 recommend!

Best dim sum inside the loop. And arguably in all of Houston. Xia Long Bao was best I’ve had in Houston. Very comparable to a recent visit to Din Tai Fung. Overall service and food and value is excellent. Will be back to try many other items on the menu ! Don’t miss the pandan butterfly pea tea and their house made chili oil !

A very elevated and different dim sum experience than the ones you get in Houston. Shrimp is plump, flavor is great, not loaded with fillers that makes you super thirsty. Presentation, quality, and service are all there. Highly recommended the Jasmine Silver Needle White tea if you’re a jasmine tea lover. It’s so fragrant and light on caffeine. The xo shrimp and scallop fried rice was really good! I will come back. Hope they expand their menu and maintain quality.

This restaurant is located inside Marriott Courtyard. There’s plenty of parking right outside.

We’ve been to many dim sum places and this place is genuinely one of the best in terms of quality! It’s on the pricier end but considering the head chef is Michelin-starred, it’s very reasonable. The hargow skin is thin and chewy. The chicken feet flavour was perfect. The xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) were also so well-made. The service was also friendly and prompt. I highly recommend this place!!

Note: the XO sauce has a strong seafood flavour so just beware if you are sensitive to the taste

This spot offers some of the best dim sum I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic flavors and a pleasant dining experience. Service was attentive without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting—perfect for a relaxed weekend brunch or dinner. Our waiter, Tyler, was kind enough to bring us an off-the-menu osmanthus jelly dessert to try!
My husband and I’s favorite is the Cheung fun with crispy shrimp — it’s a must-try! We loved it so much that we ordered two. We also tried their xiao long bao, chive dumplings (off-the-menu special), mushroom bao, chicken puff (off-the-menu special), and siu mai. The variety of dishes made it easy to sample a little of everything, and each bite was consistently flavorful.
There are many other dim sum places that are much cheaper, but if you want quality dim sum over quantity, this is your spot.

I’ll admit to having a bit of sticker shock when I opened the menu. For transparency, it cost $250 to feed a family of 5.

With that said, I absolutely loved the food and can see why Silk Road is successful. The standout dish for me was the crispy shrimp cheung fun – so delicious, I ordered three or four of them. My goodness, the flavors and texture demand poetry.

We also ordered the classics – har gow shrimp dumplings, siu mai shrimp and pork wontons, turnip cake, xiao long bao soup dumplings, and chow fun. Solid. Flavorful. Consistent.

Silk Road put its own spin on the roasted bbq pork buns. The filling had a nice star anise sweetness that reminded me of pho. It wasn’t what I imagined, and it was an interesting take.

Another bun I enjoyed was the vanilla custard filled bun. Yum. I did not love the chive dumplings, but that is only my preference.

We rounded out dim sum by ordering dan ta egg custard. What a beautiful spin with the creme brûlée-esque flamed crispy shell.

Overall solid place and dangerously close to my office. I would come back for the crispy shrimp cheung fun alone!

Shout out to Tyler for excellent service and recommendations!

Amazing dim sum with very attentive, helpful staff. We’ve lived in both New York and San Francisco but this may be the best dim sum meal we’ve ever had. The crispy shrimp, har gow and chive dumplings are spectacular. The tea selection is first rate. We almost turned away when we saw it was located inside a Marriott and I am so glad we did not. This is a truly top-notch restaurant at very modest prices. It’s not to be missed.

It’s inside a Marriott Hotel with not too big of a dinning space. However environment is great, the service is just at the right point, and the tea cups are very cute.
Xiao Long bao is highly recommended and you won’t find a same quality from any other restaurants or frozen ones you get from Costco or HEB.
Har Gaw on the left of the first pic is impressive with bouncy and fresh shrimp inside.
The seared turnip cake is a classic one but you won’t find the dried mini shrimp inside this one.
Stir fried noodle is not bad but overpriced.

The food was good and everything came out fresh, and the service was solid. That said, it’s still on the pricey side—especially for a restaurant inside a Marriott. I paid $13 for four small pieces of shrimp cheung fun, which felt outrageous. For that price, I could easily get a much more generous portion (and better value overall) in Bellaire Chinatown.
