I don’t say this lightly, but I truly felt the woman at the register treated me differently because I don’t look like their usual customers. It’s really disheartening because overall the experience with other employees was excellent, but this one interaction defined my whole experience and was really disappointing.
I added a picture of a Croissant here which I would say is one of the best in the world. Everything there is awesome: bread, cookies, German pretzels, and more.
See the picture of my scrambled eggs and bacon on their croissant! And their pretzel that I started eating before I took the picture ;-).
Erin and James have taken a long journey of learning and practicing to get here, they are as genuine, kind, and authentic as you can get. Everyone they hire and surround themselves with are a reflection of their values, a real family business.
Stop what you are doing and go there, enjoy the fabulous baked goods and support them. Oh, don’t forget the outstanding coffee! Order my favorite, the Vanilla latte. Maybe I’ll get lucky and they will name it after me. Follow them on Instagram, they are fun to watch.
A patisserie, stolen from the streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, has been sighted tucked away in a tiny storefront on Main Street in Bradley Beach. (The loss of such a cultural icon will not go unnoticed by the French. They are sure to come calling for what’s rightfully theirs.)
Erin, along with her accomplice, James (I suspect these are aliases) are offering fresh, authentic French bread, outrageously fluffy brioche, buttery and flaky croissants, crisp panniers, and a slew of other treats (see photos) out of this tiny shop. She claims to be an entrepreneur, but having sampled nearly one of everything in the shop, I can say with confidence she’s more of a culinary magician.
Not that the Jersey Shore doesn’t deserve such delicious Gallic delights; we do. We do! But, we’ve been promised such delights in the past, by other bakeries, only to be disappointed.
Not so in this case. Go now, before the summer crowds form a line around the block!
They have abbreviated hours, so check before you visit.
Also, I suggest wearing a beret and dark glasses, just in case the cops raid the place and haul the whole, charm-filled establishment—it’s customers kicking and screaming—back to Paris where it clearly belongs.
Pro-Tip: Go early if you hope to buy bread. It sells out quickly.
Stopped in for the first time since they opened. They had a really great selection of pastries, bread, and other treats. We ended up with a good assortment and everything was absolutely delicious. Perfectly laminated croissants. Beautiful hand pies. Perfectly baked bread. The folks working were super friendly and helpful just adding to the experience. I can’t recommend this place enough for your pastry and baked goods needs.
The cream puff was out of this world! And the Pistachio macaron, which is oversized- was the best one I’ve ever had in my life!
