I’ve only stopped in once, to pick up an order just before closing on a Friday night, and immediately liked this restaurant. First off, because they accepted my phone order 15 minutes before closing and second, because the hostess/waitress Natalie impressed me with her ability to manage my order as well as working the rest of the tables. She had the type of friendly attitude that made you want to sit at a table even though your food was already bagged up. I got an awesome grilled chicken sandwich and my girlfriend very much liked her caesar salad. It came with grated parmesan crumbles and she would have preferred shaved or grated strips of cheese but cheese IS her favorite food so she takes it seriously. Planning to go back for table service in the coming months and I would recommend it based on the quality of the food.

If you are looking for the best place to eat in Burlington, The Big Spruce, is the best place to eat, even though it is in Richmond.

The food is incredible. Everything we ate was delicious, fresh, a blend of summer flavors punctuated by local ingredients.

And the service! Oh, what service! Friendly, patient, personable-our main server was Curtis, who we adored. In addition, literally every other person who helped us made us feel welcomed. Thank you to the incredible staff who made this the best meal in Chittenden County!

Excellent experience—awesome outdoor seating area with a comfortable eclectic atmosphere inside! Friendly and attentive waiters/bartenders who were personable and welcoming.

Don’t miss out on the beignets!! They are incredible. The country fried chicken meal with eggs, biscuit, potatoes & house-made sauce on top was delicious! 10/10 recommend!

Tonight was our first dine in experience at The Big Spruce. We had takeout once when they first opened and it was just okay. Decided to give it a second chance. The place really needs someone to oversee the operation. Drinks were very slow to come out. Drinks also were short on the pour with an excessive amount of ice. We had to ask for silverware and napkins after our food arrived as did our neighbors. Our tacos were not distributed in the correct baskets, same for our neighbors. The mahi taco special was terrible. The fish was extremely fishy and cold. The black beans were dried out. The avocado and mushroom tacos were good. The coconut dessert was interesting. Not a good experience.

Coming from the West I am very picky on my mexican-esque food. Very nice for a west coast kid to comment on at least.. Because if its not authentic enough we won’t accept it. With that said the flavors here are great for the New England area and Northeast.

Just stepped in to experience the new Breakfast Menu. Everything looks incredible. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with Sunny-Side Eggs and it was absolutely perfect. Enjoyed my meal very much. So happy we now have one of the best breakfast places around right here in Richmond!

I met a friend here for a quick bite and a beer, neither of us had been here yet and thought it worth checking out.

First impressions were good, Hostess was nice, as was our server. Drinks were quick enough. Though a small plastic cup filled with cubed ice and margarita was underwhelming for the price even if it was well made.

We ordered food and chatted watching others be seated and order, some were served… finally our food came after what felt like a long wait for 3 Street tacos each. The food was good serving amount was small for the price. Each Taco is $5 or $6 with no sides.

We left feeling OK about our experience but won’t be rushing back.

A chill place with serving delicious Mexican food. The tacos were very good with the scallop taco (a special) being a stand out along with the carne asada. Drinks were also good, especially the Margarita. Great outdoor space.
