This family own/run Kountry BBQ restaurant is phenomenal; the atmosphere is friendly and inviting! Everything is made fresh that day, so get there early before they run out!! The Brisket melts in your mouth, Ribs fall off the bone, and BBQ is flavorful! The Brisket Mac & Cheese is the best! The Baked Beans, Coleslaw, and Green Beans are all tasty as well! They have home made BBQ sauces, regular and spicy, but to be honest it isn’t needed! Can’t forget the cornbread muffins that come with each plate! They have several homemade desserts as well my favorite it the single serving apple pies. If you’re ever in Vanceboro around 11:00 on a Friday or Saturday, looking for something good to eat stop and grab a plate you’ll not regret it!!

We tried the brisket, tri tip, turkey, pulled pork, burnt ends, both green & baked beans, the brisket mac & cheese, & took a sweet to go! VERY reasonably priced & more than fair for all you get. We will definitely be returning to indulge even more.

I commute to Greenville Mon – Thurs and always see Kent’s Kountry BBQ, but I never had time to stop. Today, I made the time to pay Kent’s Kountry BBQ a visit and was not disappointed at all!!
I am a Texas boy living in N.C. and always appreciate GREAT BBQ, and this place has it!! The ribs are TENDER, full flavored, and juicy!! The smoked turkey breast is also PACKED with flavor, tender, and not dry at all. The brisket has a mild smoky profile, but it was also juicy and tender!! Lastly, the pulled pork was just as good as the others!! For the sides, I HIGHLY recommend the Mac&Cheese. The flavor is outstanding!! All other sides are just as good, baked beans, potato salad, green beans, and coleslaw… the mac&cheese is the top shelf!! Kent’s also provide their own BBQ sauce in regular and spicy, which is a nice flavor addition if you like to add it onto your Q.
The restaurant is very clean and inviting, which shows the pride the business owner(s) have in their craft. I was able to meet the owner / pitmaster and was able to look at the pit area. Very friendly owner and staff!!
If you want to sample it all, I recommend asking for the “Splatter Platter” (as seen in my pictures), which is a little pricey, but the value you get is there!! Don’t overlook this great local restaurant if you’re ever in or around the Vanceboro area…. you will not be disappointed!!

Edit: Thought it was great before, but now, after interior updates, even more better! Please stop by on a Friday or Saturday (only open these days).had the ribs and burnt ends with Mac and cheese infused with brisket. Worth the 2 hr. Drive!

Who knew white Mennonites from Oklahoma could win 5 stars In Southern BBQ! Everyone needs to taste what they are doing here. Open Friday and Saturday for right now so this was our lucky day on our travels!

First I’d like to respond to the “Leslie G” review…….if you’re going to actually insult the patrons of a business in your review then understand no one is going to take your review seriously. Furthermore, you stated there wasn’t anything you liked about this particular restaurant especially the food but based on the dimensions of your pants you’ve never had any bad food…….anywhere……..ever.
The food here I had at Kent’s was terrific. Beans, Mac, brisket sandwich, all delicious. Great place, highly recommend Kent’s.

Absolutely delicious. We had burnt ends and pulled pork, baked beans, and coleslaw. Everything was absolutely delicious except I must say I like the traditional southern fine-cut coleslaw, but this was very minor. The homemade baked goods were delicious and there was a good variety. I took home a cinnamon roll, cherry and apple pies. I wish we lived closer and could dine here more often. We will make this our go to when we’re on our way to Greenville.
