I had the Philly sandwich for Sandwich Week with onion rings and WOW — it might be my new favorite. The sandwich came with provolone, broccoli rabe, mama’s lil peppers, and a side of au jus… basically all my favorite things in one place.
The burgers here are always amazing, so I was excited to try something different this time and it absolutely did not disappoint. The meat was super juicy and flavorful, and all of the toppings were really well balanced.
The onion rings were just as good — super crunchy with the perfect amount of breading. They also come with a few homemade dipping sauces that were so good I honestly wanted more onion rings just to keep dipping. This is the only location that has the onion rings so because I live in Beaverton my only wish is the other location had them.

Been thinking about trying Farmer and the Beast for awhile now. Food was all delicious, definitely left full happy and satisfied.

I miss the delicious, innovative food that Breakside used to make in their own kitchen. Since Farmer&Beast took over both the quality and uniqueness have taken a huge downturn. All of the ingredients are bare-bottom: generic meat, generic buns, generic American cheese, and fries that not only look like they came out of a freezer bag, but are hard and crumbly instead of crispy outside/flaky inside. These ones don’t even taste like they’re made out of potatoes. And don’t be fooled – the “special sauce” is thousand island dressing that tastes like it was made by Kraft. I hope Breakside comes to their senses and goes back to their old kitchen crew.

I’ve been frequenting the F&B food cart since they opened in NW. EASILY the best smash burger in the city. Don’t get me started on the ranch. I wish I could buy it in jugs. The food and ingredients they use are always fresh, and perfectly cooked. The owners are always so friendly and kind and that only adds to the appeal. I recently tried their Dekum location and was blown away by not only the food but the customer service. One of the owners left the kitchen to come hand deliver our food to us and checked back later to make sure we had enjoyed it. Love this place!!

Farmer and the Beast is easily the best burger I’ve had in Portland. No notes. Worth the hype. I’d go back tomorrow. I could literally drink the homemade herby ranch, it’s so good. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was perfect for a burger and a margarita. Can’t wait to go back. Sorry, we devoured our food and forgot to snap a photo!

Couldn’t be more thrilled that Farmer and the Beast took over the kitchen at Breakside. While I had no complaints about the food before, the kitchen has taken the menu to a whole new level. The hand-cut fries and chicken sandwich are my go-to’s every time.

This place is legit. Everything you’d want in a smash burger and their fries are delicious, Well blanched and you can tell they use quality frying oil.
