My husband ordered two meals . The oxtail and the Caribbean BBQ rum ribs! He said everything tasted awesome! I don’t eat those types of meat so, no comment from me, aside from I thought the dishes looked beautiful and the portions were generous! You’ll see!! I ordered the chicken lomo saltado with yuca on top!!! Chef’s kiss . Seasoned nicely, just enough heat from the scotch bonnet pepper but the flavor was A1. I’d get it again for sure and WILL!
Drinks…The rum punch was 100% certified by the yaad mon! And I couldn’t agree more. I had 2 of them!! Hubby ordered a Bob Marley or 2, which he thought was a little too sweet and the color wasn’t correct but both glasses were empty! ♀️.
Lastly, the staff was welcoming, accommodating, friendly, and are photographers on the DL!! Yesss! They set up the ring camera light and will attach your phone to it so you can take pics in front of their cute backdrop! They get that lighting matters, y’all. And dont forget to try the free, yes FREE snack appetizer with the sauces!!! Yeah, all that to say just GO, BRO! Oh we will be back! Please believe me!
The fries were hot. The waitress was very nice . Just couldn’t understand why cold food with so little customers.
The bathroom was clean but there was cocktail napkins instead of paper towels and very little toilet paper.
The sandwich also had a kind of sad wilted looking lettuce piece in the middle I pulled out. Deconstructed the sandwich ultimately and ate the oxtail, but felt dissatisfied with the sandwich quality.
We got the sampler and added a couple sides (rice and beans, plantains). It was very filling for the two of us. The ribs were our favorite but the other protein items were tasty.
However, the service was the star of the show. The warm reception from the time we walked in, attentive service and friendly demeanor of the staff was very appreciated. Ariana was working hard servicing multiple tables and she knew how to work the room. She’s so pleasant and kind. The entire staff operates as a team (if gives family owned vibes). The manager Judy is so sweet. Lester was working the bar and it was obvious he knows his way around the bar. The drinks are hand crafted. I had the PaPa Sway (right up my alley for a sweet, island inspired cocktail), but we saw that he made other more complex drinks.
Overall it was a great experience. We will definitely return. We would like to try their weekend brunch menu.
We went straight to the bar for a beer, but the selection was limited, much like the former establishment. The menu was unique, but the pricing felt high for the area: appetizers over $10 and entrées over $20, with no lunch menu available.
We ordered the Oxtail Sandwich and the Jerk Chicken Sandwich. Both had good flavor, but the execution missed the mark—the sandwiches were soggy, likely from too much sauce in the meat. Nothing stood out enough to rave about.
Service was accommodating but not particularly memorable. Overall, this felt like a one‑and‑done visit. The concept has potential, but the value, execution, and overall experience didn’t justify the price point.
