We loved this place when we came in early on a Monday and had the burger buffet. We really enjoyed it. One of the waitresses filled us in on the history of the place and pointed out two old photos on the wall from the original owners. Neat place.
It’s good to see they kept so much of what was there already and making a go at a restaurant in a small town.

This place was great to dine at! It has daily specials. I had the fried catfish curls. It was delicious! It reminded me of the old-fashioned fish fries I went to with family and friends. Service was kind and fast. She checked on us often to make sure everything was okay. There is free parking. Though you can have an adult drink while eating, one can walk across a room to enjoy more at the bar. I definitely plan on eating here again when in town.

Have eaten here many times before but our visit tonight will be our last. Called over a week ago asking for reservations since there were 14 in our party. Was told they do not take reservations on weekends. Again I stated we’d have 14 people; told ‘sorry, no reservations’. Another member of our group called a couple days later inquiring about reservations. She was told the best they could do would be to set up enough high top tables in the bar area to accommodate the large group (dining room is closed on Sundays). When we arrived there were no tables ready for us, and only one waitress who was not informed we were coming. Felt sorry for her trying her best to get our orders (drink and food) taken and served, yet still wait on other tables. She did a great job! However everyone’s food in our group came out barely lukewarm, some baked potatoes were hard inside. If you are notified by two different people that a large party is coming couldn’t you be prepared for it? Thank goodness it wasn’t two different parties of 14!

It’s a bit out of town but totally worth the drive. Great food, great staff/service and it was clean. Small town atmosphere and lots of neat stuff on the walls to look at. It’s very family friendly as well. I’m sure I will be back in the future some time soon. Hope this little known gem keeps on going. As an aside, I’m not sure why google lists this place the way it does but its also known as The Harness Room, or at least it is to my people.

Service was very attentive. It was prime rib special night at 6:30 they were already sold out. My wife ordered the filet instead and was told 5 minutes later they’re out of that also. They did after our request substitute a different cut of meat at the same price. Would go back but at senior hours to catch special.

Previously this was a great place to eat and have a drink. Wings are amazing every time but the rest of the food has slipped. Burger was dry. Pork steak was dry. Fries were cold. Sucks cause this was a good place.

Sheri was great, she explained the history of the building and went over the menu with me. The wings were very tasty and I will be going back there in near future. If are in the Pawnee Illinois area stop by.
