Desserts were so nice and delicious!
Service, it is very busy this Thursday night, service was great for a very busy night. There could be better but there could also be much worst. 5 stars for service. Service here is never ever one star. Speak up if the miss you, this is a big place.
Flavor, this chicken has a nice soy flavor. Very nice. Not as crispy as a Korean fried chicken, which is great cause this is not a Korean restaurant.
My dipping sauce, wasabi mayo, and crispy garlic chile oil. Perfect.
I ordered the cucumber appetizer, brilliant.
The cucumbers are a favourite and quite tasty. Definitely a good lunch spot to grab a quick bite.
Parking is easy in Old Torrance area. This place gives that small seating environment with nice vibes. It’s more of a place for snacks and drinks than a complete meal. I’d love to come back to watch a game or a late night place to eat/drink.
Didn’t realize until I got there that their menus are different for lunch and dinner. Will have to come back for their other menu.
I’d recommend making reservations. When we came it was relatively empty but most tables were marked reserved (including ours).
Now let’s get on to the food.
Appetizers we got the tofu with kimchi and garlic. It’s a common appetizer and they did it well. If anything, it could use more of the fried/crunchy garlic
I love the fried brussel sprouts. Somehow with how it’s prepared and served, they batter stays one consistently. Perfectly cooked. Wish the seasoning was done better since you get some bits with lots of flavor and some bites with just brussel/batter.
Bone-in chicken is a must. A small show where they cut it in front of you when it arrives and if you get the garlic fried rice, they’ll pour the sauce from the chicken on it. It’s a nice touch. The chicken is juicy and flavorful.
Garlic fried rice is forgettable in my mind. Needs more garlic flavor. The egg on the hot place over fries the egg so when you mix it all, it’s not very consistent.
Also got the 3 combo chicken. This was kind of the disappoint for me. While juicy, I don’t think it’s as amazing as people say. Portion seems very small for $20. I think if anything, they should include 1 or 2 sauces for you to select from when buying the chicken. $1 for each sauce seems without letting you order at least 1 or two with your combo just seems like a money grab.
Overall the service is great, staff are friendly and welcoming.
I’ll give this place a try since I do enjoy the food and vibes but for now I’ll keep my review as is.
However, since the restaurant is usually very busy, even if you make a reservation, it’s difficult to enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace because of the next reservation.
It’s a great place to enjoy drinks and have conversations with friends, but you are expected to finish your meal within about an hour and a half.
The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the food is definitely worth it.
The fried chicken was delicious and juicy! I would have preferred a beer with it but alas, I was driving at the time.
The Garlic Rice was alright. Definitely garlic flavor, but over all didn’t compliment the fried chicken. Might be for the bone in chicken but that will try that next time
