They stopped serving indoors at covid and just refused to reopen as a dining room…only take out…even up to now……their history…has been a real Japanese family (not Chinese or Thai run) authentic food and best sushi..but leayw a somewhat snobby stand offish owner. Rumor now is they are closing soon. Our take out entree chirashi tonight was newly revised to only one size but at the former extra large deluxe size price 35 dollars…however, it had way less fish now…a joke really..and they cut the soup and salad that came with it!!. What gives? Sushi and sashimi are delicious here but these are unfair changes. The extra soup that we had to now pay for hardly filled up the small take out cup…and the cold tofu was really tasteless… bland …(it usually has a special creamy good flavor) So many good memories here. Not a nice way to say thanks and farewell to faithful customers.

We came here because our normal place had a 45 min wait for a party of 5. Someone recommended this place in the parking lot so we drove over. The servers, we seem to have 4 different ones, seemed to lack knowledge of the food items when we asked questions. They lacked any sort of personality which isn’t a deal breaker by any means, but it was just noticeable. The service was good and appropriate, we didn’t have to wait for things and got refills as needed. The sushi itself was good/ok, again I only go to one place consistently so I compare any other sushi place to it. I would maybe come back, maybe not.

The sushi and entrees are good quality with ice cream and salad. Also, the sushi bar is great view if the chefs making the sushi. I recommend the sushi pizza, sashimi deluxe, tsunami roll and the rich and famous roll. But the restaurant is always busy so you need a reservation. Overall the food was great. If you really like sushi then go here!! The waiters are nice and friendly with decent prices.

I went alone on Saturday night on a whim because Google threw this recommendation at me. They sat me at the end of the bar with a menu and water.
I chose the first special roll off the menu and it was in front of me in minutes. After devouring the rolls, I then asked the waitress to order me her favorite roll.
I started conversation with the chef behind the counter and he was a blast to talk to.
Then again, a few minutes later, there was a nother roll in front of me. As soon as it came, it was gone.
After that, I still wanted more! I saw the chefs making a sushi pizza, which is a creation of their own, and asked for that as well. It was spectacular!
The waitress was amazingly sweet and fun to talk to along with the chef. And at the end, they referred to me by name. They just read it off my credit card, but it still made it feel like I was welcome there.
I will definitely be going back this Friday with my girlfriend. But I’m going to have to have the chefs make me their favorites this time. There is just so much to choose from! I can’t pick for myself!

Diamatsu is the real deal. There is no better sushi in the area. Not even close.
We have been going there for at least 15 years and the quality has always been superior.
This is real a ushi. Not Thai/sushi. Not Chinese/sushi. Not Brazilian/sushi. This is great Japanese food with a solid emphasis on sushi. And the freshest you will ever have.
The sushi is unbelievable, the service is great and the place is warm and friendly.

EXTREMELY OVER PRICED AND TERRIBLE SERVICE.
To start off, the food itself was mediocre and extremely over priced. I ordered 2 rolls (that had only 4 pc each meanwhile any other sushi spot is 6-8 pc), some tempura and some ice cream and somehow the check ended up being $80 before tipping. I paid the bill but had not finished my ice cream and the manager tells me they have a reservation waiting for the table I’m sitting at. I asked him “am I allowed to finish this?” And he claimed he didn’t know I was still eating… but if He thought I was done eating he wouldn’t need to ask me to get up because I had already paid so that made no sense. I also didn’t understand the rush to have me out because there were no people near the entrance waiting for their “reservation” and there were about 4 other open tables. To me it seems like there might of been some kind of racial issue and that’s why they were rushing me out after overcharging me by a LARGE margin. Overall I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could.

One of the Best sushi spots in nj. Place is unassuming and the sushi and sashimi is awesome. I cannot speak for the rolls as I only eat sushi. The staff is friendly. But beware, they like to close early so don’t show up 30 minutes to closing.
