We visited Ember for the first time recently, and everything exceeded our expectations — the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all outstanding.

As a travel advisor, I’ve had the opportunity to travel extensively and enjoy exceptional cuisine in many wonderful restaurants around the world, both on land and at sea (including cruises). This place genuinely impressed me with its presentation, ambiance, and level of service.

We didn’t realize reservations were recommended and came in as walk-ins on a Wednesday evening, even though the restaurant was fully booked. Despite that, the team went out of their way to accommodate us and managed to find us a table.

A truly memorable experience and a restaurant I would absolutely recommend. We’ll definitely be back.

New go-to spot in Williamsburg.
We were looking for a place to have dinner and came across this newer restaurant on Google—only about six weeks old, but the reviews were glowing. Reservations were fully booked, so we showed up right when they opened hoping to grab bar seating. Instead, they kindly found us a table.

From start to finish, the service and food were impeccable. We tried several dishes—everything was fresh, high quality, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully paired. Every flavor worked exactly as it should. The wagyu tartare was hands-down our favorite, and the sushi was outstanding.

We will absolutely be back the next time we’re in Williamsburg.

Ember will be an absolutely unforgettable experience for us! The service, the food ,the atmosphere it was all amazing. Our server Gina did an amazing job making recommendations as well as caring for us. We didnt need for anything.

Lamb chops ,scallops ,and Surf & Turf were ordered as mains for our table.while everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals we all agreed the filet mignon was the star of the show. It was so incredibly tender that I could’ve used a plastic knife & fork to eat it. Everything was also well seasoned.

While we really enjoyed our evening and most certainly will be coming back ,my suggestions to this restaurant as its their soft opening are:

A more extensive dessert menu as there were only 3.

Please eventually consider having espresso beverages as they’re great to pair with dessert or a cold evening like tonight.

The fried rice was neither good nor bad but very meh. I would recommend more of a Japanese style fried rice similar to hibachi.

A larger variety of mocktails for those of us who dont drink.

Overall we had a great night out and cant wait to return back!

Had a great experience and wonderful dinner. I have to give kudos to the staff first. Right out of the gate they all were super welcoming, warm, and professional! Especially our waitress Jenelle. The food: Surf & Turf Roll, Tuna Tataki, Crab Cakes, and Duck Chasseur were all fantastic! Theres not enough room here to describe how each gave such a wonderful food journey. The atmosphere was simple and modern but had that nice romantic vibe if you come for a date night. (Back dining area has a fireplace and the front has the nice views of D.O.G. St.) Definitely worth the trip. One warning though, since it’s the holidays, finding close parking was a nightmare and I highly recommend making a reservation.

We visited Ember during its soft opening. Our server was very attentive and explained all the details of the new menu to our party. We ordered the deviled eggs, which we all thought were pretty basic. The sushi was very good, and the rice was properly cooked. Both the seafood risotto and the lamb were cooked perfectly. The service was better than anywhere else we have been in Williamsburg. We will return again!

I absolutely enjoyed every moment of dining at Ember. Starting from the warm welcome to the waiter/bartender to the food, not one missed step! The knowledge of our waiter was impeccable. The food was absolutely AMAZING! The managers walking around to talk to patrons were a treat also. Definitely a go to spot for our date night dinners.

We had an incredible dinner at Ember and can’t recommend it highly enough. We started with the Dragon sushi roll, which was fresh, flavorful, and a perfect beginning to the meal. The food only got better from there—especially the fried rice, which might honestly be the best we’ve ever had. We also enjoyed the surf and turf with an added lobster tail. Everything tasted fantastic, and the steak was cooked perfectly. A great bottle of Chardonnay rounded out the meal beautifully.
But the real standout was the exceptional service. The entire wait staff worked seamlessly together as a team. Our server, Jenny, along with several server assistants, anticipated our needs throughout the evening—down to bringing fresh silverware between courses without us having to ask. I noticed a few older reviews mentioning poor service, but that must have been during their early days; I truly can’t imagine that being the case now.
The head waiter or assistant manager—whose name I believe was Rick—was also wonderfully attentive. He checked on us several times and jumped in to assist whenever needed. The whole team made the experience feel effortless and genuinely welcoming.
Overall, a top-notch experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!

I tried their sister store (Jewish Mother’s Deli) and was convinced I had to try Ember with how good the deli is. I went for dinner on Black Friday and this place was better than I expected. I wasn’t sure what to order between the steaks, Gnocchi, and the lamb. Fortunately, I ended up meeting the owner who was extremely welcoming and gave me recommendations. I ended up getting the Crispy Pork Belly for appetizer and the GOCHUJANG BOLOGNESE Gnocchi. Both were better than I expected. I also tried some of the steak and was one of the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Ember and will be making another reservation soon.

Wow, Ember was an exciting dining experience that felt both elevated and welcoming! The warm inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for a relaxed evening out.

The food was amazing! The tomato and burrata appetizer was the perfect way to start our meal—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The seared salmon was perfectly prepared. The scallop and aged parm risotto dish was rich and savory. The miso salted caramel chocolate mousse dessert was decedent yet airy.

Service was exceptional from start to finish! The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and offered thoughtful recommendations. It’s clear the chef has a true vision. Highly recommend!
