Reviews
Service deserves a top-notch rating — 5/5. The staff is attentive, polite, and efficient, ensuring every guest feels well taken care of.
Food: 3.5/5. The menu offers interesting options, but the dishes didn’t fully impress. It feels like the kitchen has much more potential, and with slight adjustments to the recipes, the culinary experience could be elevated significantly.
Packaging: 3/5. For takeout orders, the packaging could be improved — a more practical and stylish solution would enhance the experience.
Overall impression: an unforgettable place to visit, but there’s room for improvement. It leaves the feeling that this establishment has great potential to become a true gem of the region.
Although The English Room provides an authentic atmosphere and excellent service, I had a troubling experience during my visit. After my meal, the waiter added a tip to my bill without my consent. This was done without any indication in the menu, which is illegal.
I plan to file a formal complaint with the appropriate authorities about this matter. Be cautious, as such actions cast serious doubt on the honesty of the staff.
This unfortunate incident overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable experience.
Overall, it was a delightful evening with some standout dishes, and we look forward to visiting again.
Despite calling ahead multiple times, the hostess was extremely unaccommodating. Upon arrival, she made an inappropriate and disrespectful comment, saying, “Oh, you finally showed up.” This is not how customers should be treated, especially in a service-oriented environment. From beginning to end, it was clear that the staff is in serious need of customer service training.
The food was also disappointing—eggs were overcooked, and the overall quality was poor. The staff was unfriendly, our table received minimal attention, and the service was inadequate throughout the event.
When we asked to move indoors due to an afternoon tea event, we were told we had to finish and leave, with no attempt to accommodate us. Everything felt rushed, which completely ruined the experience.
This was meant to be a very special day for me, and unfortunately, the staff and management made me regret choosing this place.
Celebrating events for family that they never mentioned or asked about though the reservation requested that information.
Table placement required service to constantly put their arms, hands, Armpits over my husband’s and my son’s plates to hand me items or pour water. Seat placement also meant I was pre-bussing the table to the server as well.
Ordered rare filet mignon and received a filet that was medium. I couldn’t eat it and finally sent it back and they took it off the bill. My husband ordered a medium rare lamb and it also arrived medium to medium well. He was too hungry to send it back. Daughters filet did not come with the sauce serving. They did not forget to add a 20% gratuity though.
I was pretty disappointed with the evening.
