I was in the area and Google Jamaican food near me and I am glad I found them. I got the curry goat and it was amazing. The taste is so authentic and so flavorful. I can tell they take their time to make sure flavor is good. I live far but will definitely visit again.

I came here while in Tampa. After searching Caribbean restaurants I’m happy I chose this location.. The lunch portion was fulfilling and everything tasted fresh and great.. We ordered Curry Chicken, Beef Stew and a side of Mac n cheese and we enjoyed everything.. If im in the area again I definitely plan on returning!!

B’s Island Kitchen — let me explain.

Yes.
Just… yes.

I honestly can’t come up with enough words to say yes, so let’s start there.

My husband had curry chicken. I had curry goat. Both were fall-off-the-bone tender, deeply seasoned, and exactly what you hope for when you order Caribbean food done right. The macaroni and cheese? Delicious. The cabbage? Delicious. The cornbread? Also delicious… and let me be clear, I do not eat cornbread. I took two bites… and then two more. That should tell you everything.

For the sake of being fair and actually helpful in a review: the rice and beans didn’t quite stand up to the greatness of everything else for me. That is not to say they were bad at all, just that when everything else is operating at such a high level, that’s the one place there’s room to grow. And honestly, that’s nitpicking.

Now let’s talk portions, because this matters.
Get the large plate. Period.

If you don’t mind leftovers, you can eat off it three times. Three meals. Do the math: $25 divided by three meals = there’s your answer. Or get a large plate and share it with someone else. These days, that move would be cheaper than the grocery store, and a LOT more satisfying.

Real, authentic Caribbean food. Comforting, generous & soulful.

Now, for full transparency: I gave a 3 for atmosphere. It’s a hole-in-the-wall, and to some people it might look a little sus, However, I absolutely craned my neck through that window to see what the kitchen looked like, and it was clean. So while it may not present beautifully from the outside, from the naked eye that kitchen was well-kept, and that was plenty good for me.

So, as I said at the beginning…
Yes. Yes to everything.

I have traveled all thru Tampa searching for delicious carribean cuisine. I came across this hidden gem. The food was absolutely amazing..I ordered the large oxtail plate which was super flavorful, the rice/mac and cheese was also delicious. I also ordered the jerk chicken plate which was also perfectly made with the right amount of jamican spices..I had no complaints. I promise this spot is a WIN! I will definitely be back for more.

This place is a hidden gem A diamond in the rough if you ask me. You cannot judge a book by it’s cover… I was a little skeptical walking in bases on location but it definitely gave Jamaican culture. Place can use a little remodeling but that’s okay because we all have to start somewhere. Don’t expect southern hospitality either the staff may come off a lil rude but I promise they’re not. Wait time was about 12 mins which isn’t bad at all especially on a Saturday. Buuuut when I tell y’all I had the veggie plate (rice n peas, cabbage and Mac n cheese) it was FULL of flavor Probably the best baked macaroni I’ve everrrr had If I didn’t live all the way in SunCity FL I would’ve turned around and tipped the cook cause he definitely put his foot, back & ass in the food Will 1000% be back!!! Highly recommend!!! Can’t wait to try more items for the menu.
