My husband and I had such a great experience! We ordered a mixto molcajete. The shrimp, steak and chicken were absolutely delicious full of flavor and cooked perfectly.
The rice and beans were fresh, well-seasoned, and complemented the meal so well. You can really tell they care about the quality of their food. Highly recommend!

I came in with my husband a few weeks ago, the place is nice and clean. The parking situation in the front is a bit right but more parking around the back of the building. We went on a weekday around noon. Not crazy busy or anything so nice place to have lunch. The service was good. I ordered the red chilaquiles and my husband had the breaded chicken torta. We also ordered the asada fries as an appetizer. The fries were delicious. They had the perfect crispy crunch and softness. The Torta was good too. My chilaquiles were good but a bit dry, i think it was the sauce a bit too thicke and not spicy for my taste. But not their fault, i like my food really really spicy and all i could really taste was guajillo pepper. And that was with me having them add the diabla sauce. I would definitely come back again though and try the green ones because the presentation and everything else was good. And they have really good prices here. Probably some of the best I’ve seen in the area. Very reasonable. I will be returning for sure.

We came in and were warmly greeted by the waitress, who invited us to sit anywhere we liked. She was super friendly and even brought over a high chair right away, which was really thoughtful.
I ordered two tacos — barbacoa and chorizo — and both were fantastic. The barbacoa, in particular, had amazing seasoning and was packed with flavor. My husband was extra hungry and went for the machete with chorizo, al pastor, and asada. All the meats were delicious, and the masa tasted fresh and homemade.
Our waitress checked on us often and was consistently kind and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere — we’ll definitely be back!

Wow! Chelito’s restaurant is beyond amazing! The food is so authentic and creative. I had the molcajete mixto and it was phenomenal. The staff are so friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is welcoming and very pleasant. Chelito’s is our new favorite Mexican restaurant and we are looking forward to our next visit.

Chelitos Mexican Restaurant is a wonderful addition the Mundelein food seine. A wide variety of menu options are available. The first time I go to any Mexican restaurant I always order the same thing so I can compare them fairly. I ordered three traditional tocos, one stake, one pork, and one chicken. All three meats were well prepared and and flavorful. I had the horchata for my drink, it was homemade and very good. The chips and salsa were also very good. My only negative thing to say about the restaurant was the the music was to loud while we were there, made having a conversation a bit difficult. Overall really I enjoyed my meal and will be returning to Chelitos again.

Holy heck!! The food was incredible. My husband ordered the machete with carne asada and al pastor. I ordered the lome en chile arbol plate. Both meals were incredibly delicious. The meats were all tender and so flavorful. The rice and beans were also so tasty. The servers were so friendly. Service was fast. It had a great atmosphere; the dinning area was so clean and cutely decorated. We cannot wait to go again!! We rate this place a 12/10!!! 🙂

First time visiting this restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised. We tried the quesadillas, quesabirrias, and ceviche tostadas—everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The horchata and Mexican coffee were excellent as well. Highly recommend this spot! To top it off, the customer service was phenomenal—the owner is incredibly warm and welcoming.
